WHO YOU ARE:

HumanIT is seeking a skilled and motivated Cloud Automation Engineer to support cloud development, automation, and DevSecOps initiatives within a secure federal environment. In this role, you will engineer scalable cloud solutions in AWS GovCloud/Cloud One, develop infrastructure-as-code, and support CI/CD automation pipelines. You enjoy solving complex technical challenges, working collaboratively, and continuously learning modern cloud technologies.

Work Environment & Clearance Requirements:

Work Location: Remote (U.S. based) with potential occasional client site visits

Clearance Requirements: Active Secret or Top Secret clearance (or ability to obtain and maintain)

Citizenship Requirement: U.S. Citizenship required

Schedule: Occasional after-hours maintenance and rare emergency support may be required

WHAT YOU WILL DO:Cloud Engineering & Automation

Deploy and manage cloud architectures in AWS GovCloud / Cloud One

Develop and maintain infrastructure as code using Terraform and Ansible

Support CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins, Git, and automation tooling

Assist in cloud migration and modernization projects

Manage scalable and secure AWS environments across IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS

Containerization & DevSecOps

Build, deploy, and support workloads using Docker, AWS ECS, and EKS

Support Kubernetes orchestration and microservice deployments

Automate system configurations via Ansible and scripting tools

Integrate DevSecOps practices into delivery pipelines

Operations, Monitoring & Cloud Security

Monitor system performance and availability using AWS native tools

Configure alerts and dashboards via CloudWatch and logging services

Troubleshoot Linux and Windows servers in AWS environments

Apply cloud security controls and best practices

Collaboration & Problem Solving

Partner with cross-functional engineering and security teams

Document system configurations and deployment processes

Provide technical support and cloud expertise to project stakeholders

WHAT WE REQUIRE:Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree and 4+ years of cloud engineering or DevOps experience

➤ OR 8+ years of relevant experience

Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services

Experience with:Terraform and/or Ansible

CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar)

Bash, Python, or Groovy scripting

Linux system administration

Understanding of container orchestration such as EKS or ECS

Familiarity with cloud security and monitoring in AWS

Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills

Desired Skills:

Experience with AWS GovCloud or Cloud One

Docker and Kubernetes experience

AWS networking (VPC, Route Tables, Security Groups)

Familiarity with Agile delivery (Jira/Confluence)

Experience migrating workloads to AWS

CompTIA Security+ or AWS certification preferred

Experience with JBoss or Apache Tomcat a plus
