Position Summary
As an Architectural Cost Estimator (Specialist), you will support the development of detailed cost estimates for architectural and structural systems on complex infrastructure projects, including airports.
This role is ideal for someone who is technically strong, detail-oriented, and ready to take ownership of project scopes, while continuing to grow in both estimating expertise and leadership influence.
You will work closely with senior estimators and cross-disciplinary teams, contributing to high-quality deliverables while helping to train and support junior staff.
What You'll Do
Execute Estimating & Project Delivery
  • Perform quantity takeoffs (QTO) and develop cost estimates across multiple project phases
  • Analyze plans and specifications to identify scope gaps, conflicts, and inconsistencies
  • Develop preliminary estimates with limited information and validate against benchmarks
  • Quantify and price materials and labor for structural and architectural systems
  • Support estimate reconciliations by presenting quantities, assumptions, and cost drivers

Drive Technical Accuracy & Analysis
  • Apply conceptual estimating techniques and standardized reporting methods
  • Conduct quality checks on takeoffs, pricing, and cost buildups
  • Maintain accurate cost data, assemblies, and estimating databases
  • Support value engineering and life-cycle cost analysis efforts

Collaborate Across Teams
  • Coordinate with other disciplines to ensure complete and accurate project scope coverage
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and quality expectations
  • Communicate clearly with internal teams and stakeholders on project updates and risks

Support Team Development
  • Provide day-to-day technical guidance to Analysts
  • Support onboarding and skill development through hands-on training
  • Contribute to development of best practices, templates, and training materials

Engage with Clients
  • Participate in client meetings and discussions related to assigned scopes
  • Support strong client relationships through clear communication and reliable delivery
  • Assist in site visits and industry engagement opportunities as needed

What You Bring
  • 6+ years of architectural and/or structural estimating experience
  • Strong experience with structural systems (steel, concrete, foundations, etc.)
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Proven ability to develop accurate quantity takeoffs and cost estimates
  • Experience managing multiple projects and delivering high-quality work on deadlines
  • Proficiency in estimating tools (OST, MII, Success, Timberline, etc.)
  • Strong knowledge of MasterFormat, UniFormat, and construction documents
  • Ability to interpret architectural, civil, and engineering drawings across design phases
  • Industry certifications such as CCP, CPE, RICS, CEP, PMP, or similar
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Teams, Outlook, Word)
  • Aviation project experience is not required, but preferred.
  • Federal, U.S. Military, DOT experience is a plus
