Job Description:
At Saab Aerospace Systems in West Lafayette, IN, we are seeking an experienced Talent Acquisition Professional / Recruiter to join our HR team! Collaborating with the corporate recruiting and HR Operations teams, this on-site role will support the facility's recruiting and staffing initiatives. At Saab's West Lafayette site, you will have the exciting opportunity to be part of a team responsible for manufacturing the rear aft section of the T-7 Redhawk military trainer aircraft!
This talent acquisition role is part of a matrixed organization, reporting directly to the site HR Leader and indirectly to the corporate Talent Acquisition Manager.
Talent Acquisition Professional Responsibilities, include but are not limited to:
  • Lead full cycle recruiting efforts for the West Lafayette site, from sourcing to onboarding.
  • Collaborate with Supervisors and Trainers to coordinate the high-volume staffing process for T7 assembly operation, including the intake process, aptitude testing, and panel interviews.
  • Partner with hiring managers to define job requirements and sourcing plans.
  • Develop and execute talent acquisition strategies to attract top candidates.
  • Strategize with HR team, local leaders, and local programs to develop and build skilled talent pipelines.
  • Represent Saab at career fairs and recruiting events to enhance employer branding and attract top talent.
  • Coordinate Saab's participation in large career fairs, organizing /coaching leaders and team members working the events.
  • Monitor and report on applicant flow and talent pipeline, ensuring alignment with workforce planning goals.
  • Facilitate management panel interviews and provide guidance on candidate selection.
  • Guide hiring managers on Workday recruitment functionality and ensure compliance with recruitment policies and legal requirements.
  • Prepare salary analysis and extend offers to prospective candidates.
  • Manage preboarding and aspects of the onboarding process, including background checks, I-9 documentation, and relocation support (as applicable).
  • Process employment actions in HRIS (Workday).
  • Deliver local orientation to new talent as part of their Day 1 program.
  • Prepare and facilitate and the Saab Summer Intern Program.
  • Provide back-up support for other HR team members as needed.
  • Must be able to travel up to 15% of the time.
  • Other projects and tasks as assigned.

Compensation Range: $72,000 - $90,000
The compensation range provided is a general guideline. When extending an offer, Saab, Inc. considers factors including (but not limited to) the role and associated responsibilities, location, and market and business considerations, as well as the candidate's work experience, key skills, and education/training.
Skills and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, or a related field
  • 2+ years of recruiting / staffing experience, preferably in a multi-shift manufacturing operation.
  • Working knowledge of HR Best Practices related to talent acquisition and employee lifecycle management.
  • Experience with HRIS and applicant tracking systems (Workday experience is a plus).
  • Ability to actively engage with candidates and newly hired talent, building and establishing relationships to ensure a positive applicant and employee experience.
  • Strong professional communication, adaptability, and collaboration skills.
  • Demonstrated reliability and responsiveness to both applicants and internal customers.
  • Flexibility to work modified hours, on occasion, to provide HR support for the off-shift operations.
