Job description

We made history and now we work to transform the future - for our customers, our communities and our families. You'll see your work on the road every day, helping people move freely and pursue their dreams. At Ford, you can build more than vehicles. Come build what matters.

In this position...

At Ford, we are driving the future of automotive innovation. Our Low Voltage Power Net Architecture team is at the forefront of this transformation. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Engineer to join our dynamic and multidisciplinary team.

The Opportunity: In this critical role, you will be part of cutting-edge team revolutionizing automotive power supply architectures for our next-generation vehicles across global platforms. You will play a pivotal role in designing and integrating the foundational electrical systems that power everything from advanced features to autonomous driving capabilities. This position demands a strong systems engineering approach, integrating expertise from electrical design, power distribution and functional safety to deliver robust and innovative solutions.

You'll have...

  • A Bachelor of Science degree in one of the following fields: Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Systems Engineering, or closely related engineering discipline.

  • 3+ years of demonstrated experience in the design, analysis, sizing, and verification of automotive electrical systems, specifically with low voltage power supply architectures (12V and/or 48V).

  • Demonstrated experience and strong understanding of Systems Engineering principles and methodologies.

  • Proven experience in applying ISO 26262 functional safety standards in an automotive domain.

  • Capability to effectively utilize AI tools and methods for analysis, optimization, or problem-solving.

Even better, you may have...

  • Master's degree or Ph.D. in one of the aforementioned engineering fields.

  • 5+ years of experience with complex vehicle electrical architectures and automotive power distribution systems on 12V and 48V.

  • Familiarity with Ford engineering processes and tools, such as Ford Engineering Design Environment (FEDE), Jama, Global Product Development System (GPDS), and Jira.

  • Experience with the advanced simulation tool MATLAB/Simulink and strong understanding of automotive communication.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively liaise between internal and external stakeholders.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving complex technical challenges.

You may not check every box, or your experience may look a little different from what we've outlined, but if you think you can bring value to Ford Motor Company, we encourage you to apply!

As an established global company, we offer the benefit of choice. You can choose what your Ford future will look like: will your story span the globe, or keep you close to home? Will your career be a deep dive into what you love, or a series of new teams and new skills? Will you be a leader, a changemaker, a technical expert, a culture builder...or all of the above? No matter what you choose, we offer a work life that works for you, including:

  • Immediate medical, dental, vision and prescription drug coverage

  • Flexible family care days, paid parental leave, new parent ramp-up programs, subsidized back-up child care and more
