What is remote authentication?

Remote authentication is the process of verifying the identity of users or devices that are trying to access a network, application, or service from a remote location. It typically involves the use of credentials such as usernames, passwords, or multi-factor authentication methods to ensure that only authorized individuals can gain access. Remote authentication helps protect sensitive information and systems from unauthorized access, especially as more people work remotely or access resources from outside traditional office environments.
