Advocate Aurora Therapeutic Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our team. This full-time position is remote and designed for licensed professionals, including Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists (LMFT), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselors (LPCC), or Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSW). Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive and ongoing assessments tailored to each patientโ€™s needs, ensuring all care plans are client-centered and effective.
  • Establish and maintain clear lines of communication with supervisors, direct care staff, and families, providing updates on patient progress and engaging significant others in the therapeutic process.
  • Develop a structured schedule for patient appointments and home visits to facilitate effective monitoring and support of individual progress.
  • Coordinate and perform home visits as necessary for in-home observations, which are critical for accurate assessments and understanding of the patientโ€™s environment.
  • Regularly evaluate the efficacy of treatment plans and implement necessary modifications in line with patient outcomes.
  • Participate actively in Interdisciplinary Team Meetings, contributing insights from your interactions with patients and families.
  • Provide timely monthly and quarterly progress notes to document patient development and treatment effects comprehensively.
  • Organize and deliver training to ensure that team members are knowledgeable about program plans and documentation processes, enhancing team competency and patient care.
  • Facilitate follow-up interviews and home visits as a part of your continued involvement in patient support and care coordination.
Patient Population / Client Focus

The Licensed Mental Health Counselor position will involve working with a diverse patient population that includes both adults and youth. You will support individuals addressing a wide range of mental health issues, such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and substance misuse. Advocating for the holistic well-being of our patients, you will play a crucial role in their recovery journeys.

Qualifications
  • A Masterโ€™s or Doctorate degree in a relevant field is required to ensure a deep understanding of mental health principles.
  • Possession of an active and unrestricted license to practice as either an LMFT, LPCC, or LCSW within California.
  • A minimum of two years of counseling experience, ideally in a clinical environment, is necessary to apply competencies in a practical setting.
  • A strong foundation in legal and ethical guidelines as they pertain to mental health practice.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Preferred Experience
  • Specialization in areas such as family therapy, couples therapy, trauma-informed care, or substance misuse treatment is highly desirable and can greatly enhance the therapeutic offerings to our patients.
