Remote Audit Partner information

What is a remote audit partner?

A Remote Audit Partner is a senior-level professional in an accounting firm who oversees and manages audit engagements remotely, typically from a location outside the client’s physical office or the firm's headquarters. Their responsibilities include supervising audit teams, ensuring compliance with auditing standards, reviewing financial statements, and maintaining client relationships, all while leveraging digital tools and platforms. Remote Audit Partners play a key role in adapting traditional audit processes to virtual environments, ensuring efficiency and high-quality service regardless of location.

How does a remote audit partner coordinate and collaborate effectively with distributed audit teams?

As a Remote Audit Partner, strong coordination and collaboration skills are essential since team members and clients are often in different locations. Effective communication is typically maintained through regular virtual meetings, secure document-sharing platforms, and project management tools. Partners set expectations, review work, and provide guidance remotely, ensuring audit quality standards are met. Building rapport with both clients and team members requires proactive outreach and clear, consistent updates to keep everyone aligned and engaged.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote audit partner, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Audit Partner, you need extensive experience in auditing, in-depth knowledge of accounting principles, and a CPA or equivalent qualification. Mastery of audit software, data analytics tools, and secure remote collaboration platforms is typically required. Exceptional leadership, communication, and client relationship skills help you manage remote teams and deliver value to clients. These abilities are crucial for ensuring audit quality, regulatory compliance, and effective team coordination in a virtual work environment.

Our 60,000+ associates work across the globe at more than 15 unique businesses within life sciences, diagnostics, and biotechnology.

At Danaher, you can build an incredible career at a leading science and technology company, where we're committed to hiring and developing from within. You'll thrive in a culture of belonging where you and your unique viewpoint matter.

Learn about theDanaher Business Systemwhich makes everything possible.

The Director, Identity Security & Privileged Access Management is responsible for operationalizing and driving Danaher's global Privileged Access Management program - architecting and engineering PAM patterns, governing the platform and its exceptions, and driving adoption across OpCos so that every privileged human and non-human identity is discovered, vaulted, monitored, and governed.

This position reports to the Global Chief Information Security Officer and is part of the enterprise-wide Danaher Information Security (DIS) team; this is a remote associate role.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Design PAM reference patterns - JIT/JEA, session isolation and recording, vault topology, break-glass, and non-human-identity/secrets management - that other teams adopt.

  • Lead hands-on engineering of PAM platform configuration standards, integrations, and automation, including discovery, onboarding, and credential rotation.

  • Govern privileged-account onboarding standards, exception requests, and break-glass procedures; drive remediation of coverage gaps across business units.

  • Partner across identity, security operations, cloud, DevOps, infrastructure, and audit teams - each with their own architecture - to integrate privileged-access controls.

  • Own the PAM platform and vendor relationship; report program status, risk posture, and metrics to security leadership and audit stakeholders.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • 14+ years of cybersecurity experience with a focus on privileged access management or identity and access management.

  • Experience designing and driving enterprise or global PAM architecture, operating model, or control framework - including governance and long-term sustainability - across multiple business units.

  • Hands-on experience engineering enterprise PAM platforms (such as CyberArk, BeyondTrust, or Delinea): privileged-account onboarding, vaulting, session management, rotation, and integrations.

  • Experience working independently across IAM, security operations, cloud, infrastructure, and audit teams - each with their own architecture - to reduce privileged-access risk and support control evidence.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.

  • Experience governing non-human / service-account and secrets management at scale.

  • CISSP, CISM, or a relevant PAM platform leadership/practitioner certification.

  • Experience managing globally distributed or matrixed teams and services.
