Electrical Design Engineer
Location: Tysons, VA (Remote considered for highly qualified candidates)
Positions: 2
Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Start Date: Approximately 2 weeks
Work Authorization: ITAR Compliant (U.S. Persons Required)
Security Clearance: None required About the Role We are seeking motivated Electrical Design Engineers to support newly awarded projects involving low-voltage and utilization voltage electrical system design. This role offers hands-on involvement throughout the design lifecycle—from conceptual development through construction documentation—and the opportunity to collaborate closely with multidiscipline engineering teams. Candidates who demonstrate strong design expertise and technical independence may be considered for remote work flexibility. Key Responsibilities Access and apply company engineering standards, guides, and reference materials. Assist in producing electrical designs and construction documents including: Equipment layouts Single-line and three-line diagrams Grounding plans Feeder routing Prepare and review electrical sketches, specifications, and data sheets. Perform routine electrical calculations and assist with design checks. Support the development of: Specifications Installation details Materials requirements Utilize 2D CAD/BIM tools to support design documentation. Assist in developing Methods of Procedure (MOPs) and Sequences of Operation (SOPs) for construction support. Interpret mechanical, specialty equipment, schedules, and logic narratives. Accurately estimate task completion percentages and meet schedule commitments. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related engineering discipline. 2+ years of engineering experience (design-build experience preferred). Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Strong communication skills with the ability to interface with peers, vendors, and customers. Experience supporting or leading elements of large-scale electrical designs. Proficiency in AutoCAD (Revit experience is a significant plus).
