The Opportunity
Betterworks is seeking a motivated Software Engineer, Associate to join our frontend development team. This role is perfect for someone with foundational full-stack knowledge who is passionate about user interfaces and wants to rapidly grow their frontend technical skills under the mentorship of our experienced Senior and Staff engineers.
What You'll Own
As a Software Engineer, Associate at Betterworks, you'll have the opportunity to make a direct impact while learning from a world-class team. Collaborating closely with design, engineering, and product teams, you will help craft exceptional user experiences.
  • Design, develop, and enhance core features of our complex enterprise performance management SaaS platform.
  • Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code using modern frontend technologies, with guidance and support from senior team members.
  • Participate actively in code reviews, receiving constructive feedback to learn industry best practices and coding standards.
  • Assist in identifying and troubleshooting bugs, helping to ensure optimal application performance and reliability.
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and QA engineers to understand requirements and translate them into code.
  • Actively learn and grow your frontend architecture skills by pairing with senior engineers and exploring new technologies.
  • Bring a strong eagerness to learn, accept mentorship, and continuously improve your other technical skills in a collaborative environment.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends in frontend development, sharing what you learn with the team.

What You Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, a related field, OR equivalent practical experience.
  • 0-1+ years of software development experience (internships, academic projects, and personal portfolios count!).
  • Foundational full-stack knowledge, with a strong desire to specialize and grow in frontend development.
  • Familiarity with modern JavaScript/TypeScript and core web technologies (HTML/CSS).
  • Exposure to or basic experience with frontend frameworks like Vue.js, Angular, React, or similar modern frameworks.
