Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Automation Test Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in designing advanced automation frameworks, building tool integrations via APIs, and validating complex applications across environments and a proven ability to drive product verification and validation, implement quality controls, and mentor junior personnel.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide software quality assurance services for projects and systems, ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Define and analyze product validation strategies for new and modified applications.
  • Investigate operational and process issues with engineering and technical teams.
  • Guide and direct lower-level personnel on quality control setup and execution.
  • Devise and apply quality controls for in-house and vendor-delivered products.
  • Design advanced software automation frameworks and reusable test scripts for cross-environment use.
  • Design and implement custom APIs to integrate tools and streamline test workflows.
  • Partner with the engineering team for the Research Data Atlas program to deliver automated and manual test coverage.
  • Develop comprehensive test plans and detailed test cases and execute them as needed.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • In-depth understanding of software quality assurance practices, methodologies, verification, and validation.
  • Strong analytical and documentation skills with the ability to work across teams and levels.
  • Knowledge of relational databases and software development lifecycles.
  • Experience with tool APIs and building integrations between test and SDM tools.
  • Proficiency with test management and automation tools such as Quality Center, Playwright, Selenium, QTP, LoadRunner, and BPT.
  • Programming skills in one or more languages: C, C++, Java, and scripting skills in VBScript, Perl, Python, or TCL.
  • Knowledge of Unix and Windows operating systems and cloud environments such as GCP or similar.
  • Experience advising on documentation techniques and optimal use of problem and version management tools for testing.
  • Self-directed decision-making aligned to business and technical contexts.
  • Education/Experience: BS and 3+ years in software or test automation development with 1 year of technical experience, or AS and 8+ years with 1 year of technical experience.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with SDM and IBM Rational tools such as ClearQuest, ClearCase, RequisitePro, and Build Forge.
  • Experience in Agile or Scrum environments delivering automated test coverage.
