Job description

Sedron Technologies is hiring a talented Project Buyer to work remotely in the US!
Sedron is a leading provider of circular waste management technologies for agricultural manure and municipal biosolids processing, deploying facilities across several North American regions. Since its founding in 2014, Sedron has pioneered innovative solutions, including the patented Varcor® system, to transform waste into clean water, organic fertilizer, and carbon-negative commodities. With strong engineering expertise, Sedron's processes reduce nutrient pollution, lower operational expenses, and promote sustainability at a fraction of traditional costs.
The Buyer supports Sedron's operational mission by ensuring the timely procurement of materials, components, and services required for engineering, production, and project execution. This role manages purchase orders, vendor relationships, pricing, and delivery schedules while maintaining accuracy, alignment, and clear communication across departments. The Buyer plays a critical role in keeping Sedron's supply chain flowing smoothly and reliably.
Because we design, build, commission, and operate our technologies, we are looking for individuals who can meet the following essential functions of the position:
  • Create, issue, and manage RFQ's and purchase orders for materials, components, and services.
  • Maintain strong vendor relationships, negotiate pricing, and monitor supplier performance.
  • Ensure materials arrive on time and meet specifications to support production and engineering schedules.
  • Evaluate quotes, commercial bid tabs, compare pricing, and support cost-reduction initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate PO data, lead times, receipts, and vendor information in the ERP system.
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, quality, and project teams to resolve material issues.
  • Partnership with the team Expeditor in project timelines.
  • Address shortages, delays, and discrepancies; escalate risks early.
  • Ensure purchasing activities follow Sedron policies, quality standards, and audit requirements.
  • Maintain and issue reports.

This position allows for growth and career progression to be determined by performance, certifications, and supervisor discretion.

  • Disability, Life, and AD&D Insurance
  • FSA and HSA options with employer contributions
  • Tuition reimbursement - we invest in your growth
  • Remote or hybrid flexibility

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
  • Associate's degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered
  • 2-5 years' experience in supply chain, production, project coordination, ERP or project tracking experience
  • Experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple POs and vendors simultaneously
  • Clear, professional communication skills
  • ERP proficiency (PO creation, lead time management, receipts)
  • Basic understanding of supply chain principles
  • High attention to detail and documentation accuracy
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, cross-functional environments
  • Minimum requirement for all positions is a high school diploma or GED
  • Must have effective verbal, reading, and written communication skills in the English language

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience in engineering environments
  • Knowledge of mechanical equipment (examples: boilers, compressors, skid packages), pumps and valves
  • Familiarity with BOMs, and specifications
  • Ability to interpret basic technical drawings
  • Experience negotiating pricing or terms
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, data analysis)

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
  • Compensation for this role is between $27 - 37 hourly
  • Additional pay may apply for off-shift hours, off-site work, or special assignments
  • This role may qualify for a discretionary bonus, recognizing outstanding contributions to team and company success
  • This role requires approximately 15% travel to support Sedron facilities
  • In compliance with state and local pay transparency laws, the expected compensation for this role is shared above. The range provided is Sedron's estimate of the base compensation for this role and the final offer will be based on job-related and non-discriminatory factors such as experience, skills, and geographic location.
