Job description

Aviator Paving Company is currently hiring an Asphalt Paving Foreman. Responsibilities of this position will include supervising and coordinating asphalt paving crews to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and in accordance with quality standards. This role oversees daily field operations, manages equipment and personnel, and ensures compliance with company policies and safety regulations.


Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Supervise and direct asphalt paving crews on commercial, residential, and municipal paving projects
  • Coordinate daily work activities including scheduling labor, equipment, and materials
  • Read and interpret project plans, specifications, and work orders
  • Ensure proper grading, paving, rolling, and compaction techniques are followed
  • Monitor project progress to meet production goals and deadlines
  • Conduct daily safety meetings and enforce OSHA and company safety policies
  • Inspect work for quality, ensuring proper asphalt thickness, grade, and finish
  • Communicate with project managers, superintendents, inspectors, and customers regarding project status
  • Train, mentor, and evaluate crew members on safe work practices and job performance
  • Perform daily equipment inspections and coordinate maintenance or repairs as needed
  • Maintain accurate records, including daily reports, production logs, time sheets, and equipment usage
  • Resolve job site issues and make decisions to minimize delays and maximize productivity
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and traffic control requirements


Qualifications Include:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • 3–5 years of asphalt paving experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or foreman role
  • Strong knowledge of asphalt paving equipment, materials, and construction methods
  • Ability to read blueprints, grade stakes, and project specifications
  • Valid driver's license required; CDL preferred
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, and occasional night shifts
