Our client seeks a P2 Application Support Engineer to join a second-level support team responsible for stability, reliability, and performance of a financial technology platform supporting thousands of advisors. The role investigates, troubleshoots, and resolves complex incidents escalated from Level 1, collaborates with software engineering and SRE teams for code-level or infrastructure interventions, and operates within an agile, DevOps-oriented culture. The position requires on-site presence in Southwest Austin Monday through Thursday with remote work on Fridays and offers growth opportunities with a clear advancement path.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide second-level technical support for custom and third-party applications across web, API, and data services on Azure App Service, Functions, Container Apps, Service Bus, Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, Storage, and Data Factory.
  • Analyze telemetry, logs, and metrics using Azure Application Insights, Log Analytics, and Kusto/KQL to identify root causes and performance bottlenecks.
  • Reproduce defects, capture findings, and coordinate escalations with Software Engineering squads and SREs for code or infrastructure changes.
  • Own the lifecycle of support tickets including prioritization, stakeholder communication, documentation, and closure within SLAs.
  • Maintain functional understanding of applications, Azure infrastructure, and related business processes across modern (.NET, React) and legacy (Angular, .NET Framework 4.x) stacks.
  • Document troubleshooting steps, solutions, and runbooks to build team knowledge.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to reliability and stability improvements.
  • Identify recurring issues and recommend process or application enhancements.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure and security teams to implement monitoring, alerts, and automated remediation.
  • Troubleshoot integrations for third-party APIs, SSO (OAuth/OIDC), and file transfers.
  • Work with limited oversight and participate in periodic off-hours or on-call rotation.
  • Champion a culture of collaboration, accountability, and service excellence.
Experience Requirements:
  • Experience in application or technical support (L2 or similar).
  • Ability to troubleshoot distributed .NET or JavaScript/TypeScript applications in Azure.
  • Proficiency analyzing logs and metrics with Azure Monitor and Kusto/KQL.
  • Strong SQL skills and familiarity with MS SQL Server and NoSQL such as Cosmos DB.
  • Understanding of web architectures and RESTful APIs.
  • Experience with Azure services including App Service, Functions, Storage, Application Insights, Log Analytics, Container Apps, Service Bus, Data Factory.
  • Working knowledge of Git workflows and CI/CD with Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
  • Effective communication and ability to translate technical findings for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team with strong time management.
  • Customer service orientation with focus on resolution and satisfaction.
  • Desired: Experience with Scrum or Kanban, basic scripting in PowerShell or Bash, exposure to C#/.NET and React/TypeScript, networking fundamentals, OAuth/OIDC SSO, ITIL, financial services or fintech, Cosmos DB.
Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Typically 2-5 years of relevant experience in application support, technical support, DevOps, or software engineering in an agile environment.
  • Demonstrated success resolving production issues in cloud or hybrid architectures, preferably Azure.
  • Experience supporting .NET, C#, or React/TypeScript solutions is desired.
  • Certifications desired: Microsoft Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900), Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104) or Azure Developer Associate, ITIL Foundation, Agile or Scrum.
