Work Environment

The position is primarily remote, allowing for a flexible work-life balance while engaging with clients through telehealth services. Our virtual office supports a team-oriented approach, ensuring that therapists collaborate effectively with each other and our multidisciplinary team of psychiatrists and healthcare professionals. Although the primary work setting is remotely based, therapists may occasionally visit our Denver office for team meetings and professional development sessions.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough trauma-informed assessments to evaluate patients’ trauma history and co-occurring conditions.
• Develop and tailor individualized treatment plans focused on trauma recovery, integrating approaches such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).
• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions that enable patients to process their trauma, develop coping strategies, and build resilience.
• Provide crisis intervention support, offering timely assistance and resources during trauma-related emergencies.
• Engage in continuous collaboration with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for patients.
• Educate patients and their families on trauma responses and provide guidance on effective coping mechanisms and available resources.
• Maintain accurate and confidential clinical documentation that adheres to legal and ethical standards.
• Participate in regular case consultations and team meetings aimed at enhancing trauma-informed care practices.
• Stay informed about the latest research and best practices in trauma therapy, integrating new knowledge into therapeutic interventions.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As a Licensed Mental Health Therapist at Chat and Change Counseling, you will work primarily with individuals facing the impacts of trauma, including those diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), complex trauma, and dissociative disorders. Your role will be integral in supporting clients with their recovery journeys, providing them with the tools and support needed to heal and thrive.

Qualifications

• Master’s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Current licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the state of Colorado.
• Strong knowledge base related to trauma-informed care practices and trauma-responsive therapeutic techniques.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, characterized by a non-judgmental, empathetic, and supportive demeanor.
• Competence in utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems and corresponding digital tools for documentation and patient management.
• Ability to maintain composure and professionalism in high-stress situations, fostering a safe space for clients.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of 2 years of post-licensure experience in a mental health setting is preferred.
• Experience working with diverse populations and an understanding of cultural competency in therapeutic practice are advantageous.
• Familiarity with community resources and networks for trauma survivors in the Denver area will support effective client referrals and resource navigation.

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation package for this position ranges from USD 90,000 to 100,000 yearly, depending on experience and expertise.
