How do remote apparel professionals typically collaborate with design and production teams from a distance?

Remote apparel professionals often rely on digital collaboration tools to communicate with design and production teams. Regular virtual meetings, shared project management platforms, and cloud-based design software help ensure everyone stays aligned on project goals and timelines. Effective communication is key, as teams work across different locations and sometimes time zones. In addition to digital tools, remote professionals may participate in virtual fittings or provide detailed written feedback to keep production processes smooth and efficient.

Description
EVEREVE inspires women to move forward in their fashion so that they feel fully alive. By offering modern, curated trends from 150+ brands, including our own best-selling line-along with warm, genuine advice-we deliver a styling experience made personal. Our 110+ stores, booming e-commerce business, and fast-growing subscription box service, Trendsend, reach over two million customers every year.
Living our core brand values and treating everyone with HEART (humility, empathy, authenticity, relationships, tenacity) creates a shared purpose and collaborative community-and it's also a key part of our success. Join our team to help shape the future of an ever-growing, ever-evolving brand!
Categories: Women's Apparel (category TBD)
Location: Edina, MN (This position is not remote)
Position Overview:
The Buyer, Contemporary Ready-to-Wear, brings vision to life through a creative, editorial eye and a disciplined product instinct. A deep understanding of the EVEREVE customer shapes every decision. They want product that's on trend, modern, and versatile, with the right amount of edge. This role is equal parts cultural observer and commercial merchant: always scanning what's new and next, forming a strong POV on where fashion is headed, and translating that vision into assortments that feel both fresh and intentional.
What You'll Do:
  • Set the Vision: Define and execute a clear category strategy that aligns with brand priorities and delivers assortments that feel on trend, modern, comfortable and versatile with the right amount of edge. This buyer grounds every decision in a deep understanding of the EVEREVE aesthetic and who she is today.
  • Lead with Taste and a Point of View: Stay ahead of the curve by actively seeking out what's new and next; through runway, street style, cultural moments, emerging brands, and global markets. Develop and own a clear creative POV on where fashion is heading and how it translates for the EVEREVE customer. Curate product that hits the intersection of on trend, modern, comfortable and versatile, with the right amount of edge. EVEREVE is never chasing trends blindly, but always informed by it.
  • Drive Business Results: Partner closely with Planning to hit financial goals, manage open-to-buy, and deliver margin and sell-through targets.
  • Edit with Intention: The ability to say no is as important as the ability to find the right product. Focused, purposeful assortments give the customer clarity. That discipline is a real competitive advantage. Editing well is part of the craft.
  • Develop Owned Brand Product: Partner closely with Design to build and evolve the line plan for the category. Shaping product that supports the growth of our owned brand, reinforces EVEREVE's brand positioning, and complements our third-party brand assortment. Bring a creative and commercial lens to every development conversation: identifying whitespace opportunities, influencing silhouette and fabrication direction, and ensuring the owned brand line feels intentional and differentiated. This is collaborative creative work; not just approving product, but co-creating it.
  • Negotiate with Integrity: Build strong vendor partnerships grounded in mutual respect, while skillfully managing cost, terms, and margin.
  • Lead and Influence Across the Business Unit: Operate as the connective thread between Buying, Planning, and Design, and as a craft-level expert within the department. Collaborate cross-categorically with fellow buyers to align on key looks each season. This buyer is ensuring the total assortment tells a cohesive, styled story that the EVEREVE customer can shop head to toe.
  • Bring the Product Story to Life: Partner with Marketing, Visual Merchandising, Ecommerce, and Stores to build the stories around the product. A strong product POV is only half the equation knowing the biggest wins happen when product and storytelling come together. Active collaboration on how the assortment is presented, styled, and communicated across every channel is part of the role.
  • Pivot with Agility: Anticipate and respond to shifts in trend, inventory, or performance with creative and data-driven solutions by bringing an entrepreneurial spirit and a growth mindset that treats hurdles and change as opportunity, not obstacle.
  • Lead by Example: Champion EVEREVE's HEART values and help cultivate a culture of curiosity, connection, and growth.

Who You Are:
  • A creative merchant and trend hunter with a strong aesthetic point of view, a high taste level, and a constant pulse on the women's market. Always looking for what's new, what's next, and how it applies to the EVEREVE customer.
  • Someone with a genuine passion for and deep understanding of the EVEREVE customer. A clear, confident point of view on what she wants: product that's on trend, modern, and versatile, with the right amount of edge. That instinct is built by spending time with her directly: in stores, in conversations, on the floor. This buyer is not waiting for the data to confirm what a great merchant already senses.
  • A strategic thinker who connects product, brand, and customer insights to drive results.
  • A natural relationship-builder with vendors, internal partners, and cross-functional teams.
  • Someone who balances art and science. This buyer is trusting instinct and taste while grounding :in data, retail math, and performance analysis.

Requirements
  • 3+ years of Buyer level experience in Contemporary Women's Ready-to-Wear
  • Proven ability to analyze business performance and translate insights into actionable product strategies.
  • Strong retail math and planning acumen; Excel proficiency required.
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 20-30% travel for markets and vendor appointments.
  • In-office presence required 4 days per week in our Minneapolis HQ.
