Senior Software Engineer

Client is a leading communications and engineering company that delivers integrated solutions such as mobile networking, cloud services, engineering support, training and sustainment for geospatial systems, primarily Team Awareness Kit / Tactical Assault Kit (TAK). In addition, Client builds custom mobile kits and sensor integration to empower people and organizations to improve their communication and collaboration capabilities globally.

Purpose And Objectives

Client is a technology company dedicated to delivering solutions that address our customer's unique requirements. The mission of Client is to be nimble and innovative in providing high quality solutions. Therefore, we are looking for an engaged seasoned professional in the role of Senior Software Engineer who can make an immediate impact. The candidate must have strong organizational skills and ability to work successfully in a fast paced, complex work environment. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated and polished professional capable of prioritizing work, demonstrating exceptional problem-solving skills, professional communication skills, flexibility and teamwork. Some job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead the architecture of a new strategic platform including technology selection (React Native vs. Swift)
  • Lead the development of our mobile applications and web application efforts across multiple fast paced programs
  • Create and support the iOS UI for the new platform as well as existing applications
  • Integrating multiple systems, sensors, unmanned platforms, communications devices (tactical radios, commercial radios systems) into the Team Awareness Kit / Tactical Assault Kit (TAK) suite of products
  • Work independently and be proactive in identifying and resolving problems as they arise
  • Support in-house and in-the-field engineering activities including travel to customer sites
  • Participate in code reviews, customer, and team meetings
  • Must be effective performing with a remote workforce
Qualifications

Required: Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or related field Preferred: Master's degree in Computer Science or related field

Experience And Skills

BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject Proven working experience in software development Working experience in iOS development Have published one or more iOS apps in the app store Familiarity with Objective-C and Cocoa Touch Experience working with iOS frameworks such as Core Data, Core Animation, Core Graphics and Core Text Experience with third-party libraries and APIs Working knowledge of the general mobile landscape, architectures, trends, and emerging technologies Solid understanding of the full mobile development life cycle Minimum of five (5) years of Software Development Experience At least two (2) years of experience leading technical teams and/or managing software developers preferred Ability to handle and prioritize multiple simultaneous assignments Ability to make concrete progress in the face of ambiguity and imperfect knowledge Experience working within an agile-based development and team structure
