Job description

The Operational Tools software team at Zoox is looking for a software engineer to build the tools that support our autonomous ride-sharing service. This team plays a key role in enabling the safe, reliable, and scalable operation of our autonomous fleet, making it a critical part of Zooxโ€™s mission to bring autonomous ride-hailing to the world.

As part of a collaborative team with diverse technical expertise, youโ€™ll work closely with product managers, designers, QA engineers, and remote operators to develop full-stack applications that support fleet monitoring, in-vehicle visualization, and real-time ride operations. Your work will directly contribute to the day-to-day operation and long-term improvement of our autonomous vehicle platform.

In this role you will:
  • Design, build, and maintain full-stack applications that power Zooxโ€™s operational tools and autonomous ride-hailing platform
    Develop scalable systems to monitor, support, and optimize a growing fleet of autonomous vehicles

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, designers, QA engineers, and remote operators to deliver high-impact solutions

  • Build backend systems to foster communication and manage data essential to operational workflows

  • Ensure system reliability and performance through testing, debugging, and continuous improvement of production systems

Qualifications
  • 3+ years of professional experience in software development.
  • Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and Node.js, or comparable backend technologies.

  • Solid understanding of database systems (relational and/or NoSQL), including data modeling and query optimization.

  • Excellent communication skills, with a proven ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.

Base Salary Range

There are three major components to compensation for this position: salary, Amazon Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), and Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights. A sign-on bonus may be offered as part of the compensation package. The listed range applies only to the base salary. Compensation will vary based on geographic location and level. Leveling, as well as positioning within a level, is determined by a range of factors, including, but not limited to, a candidate's relevant years of experience, domain knowledge, and interview performance. The salary range listed in this posting is representative of the range of levels Zoox is considering for this position.
