Job description

Citizens Financial Group, Inc. (CFG) seeks a Software Engineer II for its Plano, Texas location.

Responsibilities:

    Designing, modifying, developing, and implementing technology solutions and computer application software to support banking operations, including cloud-native and contact center solutions leveraging AWS Connect, Amazon Lex, and AWS Lambda. 
    Building modern, architecturally sound components, tools, and applications aligned with mission-driven business goals, with a focus on AI-driven conversational experiences, real-time integrations, and data-enabled decision-making through analytics platforms. 
    Participating in an environment rapidly transforming to Agile methodology, adhering to best practices, and collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams including product, data science, and cloud engineering. 
    Designing and delivering scalable, resilient contact center solutions using AWS Connect, integrating intelligent virtual assistants powered by Amazon Lex, and orchestrating backend workflows through AWS Lambda-based microservices. 
    Infusing quality of service characteristics such as scalability, manageability, observability, and maintainability into distributed service-based frameworks and event-driven architectures, enabling expansion of business and technical capabilities. 
    Leveraging data analytics and reporting frameworks to monitor performance, optimize customer journeys, and enable insights-driven enhancements across digital and contact center platforms.
    Employing industry best practices to evaluate, remediate, and prevent vulnerabilities during the software development lifecycle, ensuring secure and compliant implementations within regulated banking environments. 
    Documenting development iterations and ensuring high-quality technical documentation, including solution architecture diagrams, API contracts, and data flow mappings. 
    Creating progress reports and providing visibility into delivery milestones, risks, and outcomes.
    Participating in code and design reviews with network, infrastructure, data, and solutions engineering teams to ensure solutions meet enterprise standards and align with cloud architecture principles and AWS best practices.


Qualifications:

Master's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Computer Technology, or related field and 2 years of experience as a Software Engineer or related position involving experience with AWS. 

Must have at least 2 years of experience with: 
    Updating email configurations and integrating them with existing APIs using Java mail and Spring Boot;
    Designing and developing REST APIs from scratch using Java, Spring Boot, and NodeJS; 
    Creating unit test cases that achieve 80%-line coverage and deliver high quality code using Junit, Mockito, and Sonarqube; 
    Creating database stored procedures, views, and contributing to data modelling using Oracle SQL Developer;
    Implementing normalization using SQL Anywhere Server and database integrity constraints, including Trigger, Referential, Not Null, and CECK; 
    Creating Terraform scripts to deploy AWS lambda functions; 
    Utilizing Datadog to gather metrics and monitor applications events; 
    Creating dashboards in Datadog by integrating AWS connect reporting work flows; and 
    Utilizing Jenkins and Git for comprehensive development and version control.

Remote work permitted 1 day per week.
