Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive trauma-informed mental health assessments, identifying each client's unique trauma history and treatment needs.
• Design and implement tailored treatment plans that focus on trauma recovery, resilience, and empowerment.
• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic modalities, such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), in individual and group therapy sessions.
• Support clients through the processing of trauma, the development of coping strategies, and the promotion of overall mental well-being.
• Collaborate closely with psychiatrists and multidisciplinary team members to ensure integrated care and optimal patient outcomes.
• Provide immediate crisis intervention when necessary, offering essential support during trauma-related emergencies.
• Educate clients and their families about trauma responses, coping mechanisms, and available mental health resources.
• Maintain accurate, up-to-date documentation in compliance with legal and ethical standards, utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems efficiently.
• Engage in ongoing professional development through workshops, relevant training, and staying informed about the latest research and best practices in trauma therapy.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will be working primarily with adult clients who have experienced various forms of trauma. These individuals may present with complex mental health issues related to past experiences, including PTSD and dissociative disorders. Your role will involve not just therapeutic intervention but also extensive engagement with clients to foster a trusting therapeutic alliance that encourages open communication and growth.

Qualifications

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• A current and valid license (LCSW, LPCC, or LMFT) to practice in the state of California.
• A strong foundational knowledge and understanding of trauma-related disorders and effective trauma-informed treatment therapies.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrating empathy and a non-judgmental attitude in client interactions.
• Ability to maintain composure in high-stress situations, supporting clients effectively through challenging moments.
• Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and technology platforms.

Preferred Experience

While the minimum requirement is two years of post-licensure experience, candidates with a proven track record in trauma-focused therapies and interventions will stand out. Experience managing crisis situations and a familiarity with diverse client populations will also enhance your application.

Compensation and Benefits
