Job description

Job Summary:
Raytheon is the world’s largest aerospace and defense company, dedicated to solving complex problems. As a Scrum Master, you will coach cross-functional teams to improve their collaboration and delivery capabilities, facilitating Agile practices and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Responsibilities:
• Coach teams in Agile principles, Scrum practices, and continuous improvement to strengthen delivery outcomes.
• Help teams develop effective ways of planning, collaborating, and inspecting and adapting their work.
• Facilitate key Scrum events (Sprint Planning, Reviews, Retrospectives, etc.) while encouraging increasing team ownership of these activities.
• Guide teams in identifying improvement opportunities and experimenting with new ways of working.
• Partner with Product Owners to strengthen backlog clarity, prioritization, and alignment with business outcomes.
• Identify impediments to team progress and help address them at the team, program, or organizational level.
• Encourage transparency and coach teams to use metrics and feedback to improve predictability and flow.
• Foster strong collaboration among developers, Product Owners, architects, and stakeholders.
• Support the broader organization in understanding and evolving Agile ways of working.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years' experience
• Experience serving as a Scrum Master or coaching Agile teams.
• Experience implementing Agile principles and Scrum practices.
• Experience In leading/coaching teams in technical environments.
• Experience working with cross-functional technical teams.
• U.S. Citizen - U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
Preferred:
• Ability to coach teams beyond process mechanics toward stronger ownership and self-organization.
• Experience helping teams improve delivery predictability, flow, or quality.
• Experience working in multi-team or scaled Agile environments.
• Strong facilitation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to use multiple coaching stances (facilitation, mentoring, teaching, professional coaching) based on team needs.
• Experience with Agile collaboration tools such as JIRA or Confluence.
• Agile certifications (CSM, PSM, SAFe, or equivalent) are helpful but not required.
• Experience in software development, product management, or technical delivery contexts.
