Remote Agile Consulting information

What are some common challenges faced by remote agile consultants and how can they be addressed?

Remote Agile consultants often encounter challenges such as fostering team cohesion, maintaining transparent communication, and ensuring effective collaboration across different time zones. To address these, it's crucial to leverage digital collaboration tools, set clear expectations for communication, and establish regular touchpoints like daily stand-ups and retrospectives. Building trust virtually and actively encouraging participation can also help replicate the collaborative spirit of in-person Agile environments. Over time, honing facilitation skills and adapting Agile practices for remote contexts can significantly enhance team performance and client satisfaction.

What is remote agile consulting?

Remote agile consulting is a service where experts in agile methodologies help organizations implement or improve agile practices while working from a remote location. These consultants provide guidance on agile frameworks such as Scrum or Kanban, facilitate virtual workshops, and help teams adapt to agile processes without being physically present. Remote agile consultants leverage digital tools for communication and collaboration, ensuring that teams can remain productive and responsive, regardless of their location. Their goal is to enhance team performance, increase adaptability, and deliver value more efficiently through proven agile principles.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote agile consultant?

To thrive as a Remote Agile Consultant, you need a strong background in Agile methodologies (such as Scrum or Kanban), experience in project management, and relevant certifications like Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or PMI-ACP. Familiarity with collaboration tools like Jira, Trello, and remote communication platforms such as Zoom or Slack is typically required. Outstanding facilitation, coaching, and adaptability skills help you build trust and guide distributed teams through change. These skills and qualifications are vital to effectively drive Agile adoption and deliver value to clients across remote environments.

What is the difference between Remote Agile Consulting vs Remote Scrum Master?

Remote Agile Consulting involves advising organizations on Agile practices and strategies across various projects, often working with multiple teams. Both roles require Agile certifications but differ in scope and focus, with consulting being more strategic and Scrum Master more operational.

Job description

Are you energized by working in high-impact, cross-functional environments? Do you enjoy shaping growth strategy and supporting strategic investment decisions?

As a Senior Consultant within US Corporate Development, you will help evaluate and advance Deloitte's most strategic investment priorities. You will lead and support complex initiatives across the investment lifecycle - from market assessment and opportunity evaluation to business case development and executive-level recommendations.

This role requires strong strategic thinking, analytical rigor, executive communication skills, and the ability to thrive in an environment that is fast-paced, collaborative, and often ambiguous.

Recruiting for this role ends on 08/23/2026.

Work you'll do

As a Senior Consultant, Strategy, Growth, and Transformation on the US Corporate Development team, you will be responsible for:

  • Developing growth strategies and applying market assessment frameworks to evaluate priority growth areas and shape the acquisition priorities and target pipeline
  • Applying hypothesis-driven problem solving and structured thinking to frame ambiguous strategic questions and drive to clear recommendations
  • Quickly building fluency in new markets and emerging technologies, and translating findings into business value, risk, and investment implications
  • Conducting qualitative and quantitative analyses through market research to inform acquisition target identification, pipeline development, and investment prioritization
  • Sourcing and screening potential acquisition targets aligned to Deloitte's priority growth areas
  • Building executive-level presentations with advanced PowerPoint and storyboarding to communicate findings to senior stakeholders
  • Supporting development of strategic rationale, investment theses, business cases, financial models, and executive-level recommendations for potential acquisitions
  • Managing due diligence workstreams across financial, operational, commercial, technology, and human resources stakeholders, and synthesizing findings into executive-level materials
  • Planning and supporting post-close integration activities, including integration roadmap development, synergy tracking, governance structures, project plans, and milestone tracking
  • Staying intellectually curious across the full scope of the M&A process and the broader strategy work of the team
  • Working in an agile environment where you adjust quickly and seamlessly to the latest business priorities as the firm's needs evolve

A successful candidate would possess these skills:

  • Meticulous attention to detail and quality of work product
  • Ability to build and sustain professional relationships
  • Ability to lead projects or workstreams
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced and dynamic environment

The Team

This position is part of Deloitte's US Corporate Development (USCD) function. USCD plays a critical role in shaping Deloitte's future by driving the firm's inorganic and organic growth agenda. The team partners with senior leaders across the firm to evaluate, prioritize, and execute strategic investments that strengthen Deloitte's market position and long-term growth trajectory.

USCD operates at the center of strategy, investment execution, and enterprise transformation. Team members work in a high-impact, high-visibility environment, supporting some of the firm's most significant and complex growth initiatives.

In this role, you'll join a cohort of Consultants/Senior Consultants for USCD. As part of this dynamic resourcing pool, you'll be deployed to high priority initiatives and projects across the Corporate Development ecosystem, helping the team adapt to evolving market needs and prioritize the most important areas for the firm.

This is an internal, non-client-facing role with limited travel as needed for business meetings. The team operates in a remote environment, with flexibility to work from home or a local Deloitte office.

Qualifications
Required:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 4+ years of experience in corporate development, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), investment banking, management consulting, transaction advisory, or private equity
  • 2+ years of experience conducting market research, target screening, and business case development for acquisitions or strategic investments
  • 2+ years of experience building financial models in Microsoft Excel and developing executive-level presentations in Microsoft PowerPoint
  • Ability to travel 0-10%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve.
  • Limited immigration sponsorship may be available.

Preferred:

  • Master of Business Administration
  • Experience supporting acquisitions across the investment lifecycle, from target evaluation through integration
  • Experience in the professional services industry
  • Experience developing synergy models and value creation assumptions
  • Experience managing due diligence or post-close integration workstreams across cross-functional stakeholders
  • Experience preparing materials for senior executive or board-level stakeholders

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $93000 to $171300.

You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
