Remote Accounts Payable Receivable Clerk Jobs (NOW HIRING)

LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a company in Nassau County to fill a high-volume AP and AR role, processing vendor invoices and customer payments, supporting collections activities, and ensuring accurate financial records. The ideal candidate is organized, analytical, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable Specialist position. This could be remote for someone living on the east coast or in office one day a week. This is a temp to hire opportunity and will pay $70k-$75K when permanent. Hourly rate - $30-$35 an hour .
Responsibilities
Accounts Payable
· Process and code vendor invoices, freight invoices, warehouse invoices, and credit memos.
· Review invoices for accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
· Record ACH and wire payments and maintain payment records.
· Monitor AP aging reports and ensure timely payments.
· Prepare weekly payment proposals and supporting documentation.
· Process expense reports and manual checks as needed.
· Enter and pay duty invoices.
· Support month-end close activities, including accrual preparation.
· Maintain organized electronic documentation and records.
Accounts Receivable & Collections
· Apply customer payments accurately and investigate unapplied cash.
· Research and resolve payment discrepancies, short payments, and account variances.
· Review customer accounts and monitor outstanding balances.
· Assist with collections efforts and follow up on past-due invoices.
· Investigate billing discrepancies and coordinate corrections with internal departments.
· Maintain documentation related to customer payments, adjustments, and collection activities.
Additional Duties
· Prepare journal entries as needed.
· Support internal and external audits by providing requested documentation.
· Assist employees with expense report procedures.
· Collaborate with Sales, Customer Service, Credit, Billing, and other departments to resolve account issues.
· Perform additional accounting and administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High school diploma required; college coursework or degree preferred.
Minimum 2 years of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable experience in a high-volume environment.
Experience supporting collections activities.
Knowledge of ERP/accounting systems such as Sage or similar platforms.
Strong Microsoft Excel and Word skills.
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
Detail-oriented with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Preferred Skills
Experience handling high-volume invoice processing and customer payment applications.
Strong analytical and reconciliation skills.
Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
Professional approach to vendor and customer communications.
