Job Description:

We are looking for a QA Engineer to join our team! In this role, you will build robust automation frameworks, craft reliable test strategies, and collaborate closely with developers, product, and design. We are looking for people with an engineering mindset that understand the engineering and enjoy creating tight feedback loops.

Depending on your experience, technical depth, and leadership skills, this role may be offered at the mid or senior level, giving you the opportunity to grow and make a significant impact in how we create our QA program.

Location: This role is ideally hybrid and based out of one of our corporate office locations in Columbus, OH; Austin, TX; or Denver, CO. Strong remote candidates may be considered if a suitable local skill match is not identified.

Compensation: The expected salary range for this position is $125,000-$145,000, depending on experience, skills, and location.

What you'll do:

  • Work closely with Product & Design team to understand product requirements across different internal and external applications
  • Develop and document manual + automated testing plans based on product requirements.
  • Review business requirements and recommend changes to develop reliable applications
  • Build automated e2e testing using the Playwright testing automation framework.
  • Build automated API tests using Postman or similar as well as implementing automated tests in code.
  • Build and analyze performance tests.
  • Perform manual & exploratory testing as appropriate.
  • Automate regression testing for scalability.
  • Work with engineers to write API tests in code using Typescript.
  • Work with the engineering and product teams to streamline and automate release processes while still ensuring stability & quality.
  • Work with stakeholders and business experts to ensure critical financial math is completely accurate and in line with mortgage industry standards.
  • Help integrate testing processes into CI/CD pipelines
  • Aid users and program teams in investigating and reproducing bugs found in production.
  • Work with management to prioritize and categorize bugs
  • Identify applications & areas of applications that produce notably higher bug rates.
  • Become an expert in the expected and desired behavior of mortgage applications.
  • Explore and develop AI testing frameworks, confirming areas where it is an effective tool and where it is not.

  • 3+ years in QA and SDET is a must.
  • This position may be filled at either the mid or senior level, depending on the candidate's experience, technical expertise, and leadership capabilities.

  • Demonstrated communication and collaboration skills, in discussions, slack, and documentation.
  • Familiarity with database testing, security testing, and accessibility testing is a plus.
