Job description

Virtual Program Advisor - Generation Park
FUNCTION: The function of the Evening Virtual Program Advisor is to provide academic and career advising, registration and assist students with interpreting college/program policies.
Essential Job Functions:
  • Provides academic advising, registration assistance, and assistance in accessing and navigating institutional requirements to current students in a virtual setting.
  • Communicate with students virtually (chat, zoom, and email) to provide advising assistance.
  • Guide students in choosing a pathway.
  • Inform and referring students to other institutional resources as needed (counseling, tutoring, career services, etc.)
  • Perform related duties as required or deemed necessary to meet program advising goals.
  • Demonstrate continued knowledge of institutional changes including new programs, course changes, important dates, costs, and updates in university-wide initiatives and polices.

Additional Job Functions:
  • Assist with graduation application process and commencement activities.
  • Serve as a liaison and foster intentional relationships with other advisors, offices, and departments.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Maintain processes and systems that improve the quality of customer support services.
  • Demonstrate working functional knowledge and use of Microsoft Office.
  • Must possess outstanding communication, critical thinking, customer service, and organizational skills.
  • Must be detail oriented.
  • Must be able to work independently and problem solve.
  • Demonstrate the desire to learn new software requirements to support office functions & efficiency.
  • Adapt to learning new tasks & skills.

Required Education:
  • Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college/university required.

Required Experience:
  • Possess personal computer literacy and good organizational skills.

Preferred Experience:
  • Experience / training in one or more of the following areas: education, teaching, academic advising, recruiting, sales, customer service, marketing, or public relations - preferably at Community College level.
  • Banner experience preferred. Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.

Note:
  • Although this position is considered completely remote, the duties of this position require physical presence at the assigned on-site work location for training and other required meetings.
  • This position is completely remote.
  • Scheduled hours are Monday - Thursday 2:00 pm - 11:30 pm and Sunday 5:00pm-11:00pm. Some Saturdays may be required.

Salary Grade: 110
Salary is based on the Board-approved salary schedule for the current fiscal year. See Salary Schedule
