A remote academic advisor is a telecommute position at a college or university. In this role, you work from home or another setting outside of an office and advise students on courses they need to complete to earn their degree. You also help with student admissions and work to improve student retention. Your duties may include monitoring students’ degree progress, helping students plan their academic path, and supporting students as they work toward their educational and career goals. Other responsibilities include interpreting institutional procedures, policies, and requirements, as well as assisting with freshman orientation.
