Evergreen Mental Health Treatment is seeking a dedicated and compassionate full-time Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our outpatient team in Guilderland, New York. In this role, you will be pivotal in supporting individuals facing various mental and emotional challenges, particularly those affected by trauma. This position is primarily remote but requires occasional visits to our outpatient office in Guilderland, ensuring that you have access to supportive resources and team collaboration. Our team operates with a commitment to making mental health services accessible, and your schedule will generally follow a 40-hour workweek from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday, offering you work-life balance while remaining dedicated to your patients.

• Conduct initial assessments and evaluations of clients' needs, utilizing a trauma-informed approach to develop tailored treatment plans.
• Engage with clients through one-on-one sessions to listen to their experiences, diagnose mental health issues accurately, and implement coping strategies.
• Monitor and document patient progress regularly, adjusting treatment plans as needed to address evolving challenges or goals.
• Educate clients and their families about coping mechanisms and therapeutic techniques, ensuring they have the knowledge to manage their mental health effectively.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers, social agencies, and community organizations to facilitate comprehensive support for patients, linking them to necessary resources.
• Stay informed on the latest mental health research and best practices through continuing education, ensuring that your skills and knowledge are current.
• Participate in internal team meetings and trainings focused on enhancing service delivery and patient engagement strategies.
• Champion advocacy efforts that address gaps in mental health care access, particularly for trauma-affected individuals in the community.

You will primarily work with trauma-exposed individuals seeking help to navigate the complexities of their mental health conditions. Our patient population may include survivors of losses, domestic violence, accidents, and other trauma-related events. Your role will be instrumental in creating a safe space for these individuals, allowing them to express their emotions, gain insight into their challenges, and develop actionable goals for recovery.

• A Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling or a related field.
• A valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) certification is required.
• A minimum of three years of direct experience working with trauma patients is essential to effectively understand and address their needs.
• Proficiency in using Microsoft Office suite, with the ability to document patient interactions clearly and efficiently.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to foster strong relationships with clients and collaborate effectively with team members.

• Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and Salesforce is a significant plus.
• Familiarity with trauma-informed care practices and emergency intervention techniques.
