What is a Remote 8 Hour RN?

A Remote 8 Hour RN is a Registered Nurse who works from a location outside of a traditional healthcare facility, such as their home, for an 8-hour shift. These nurses typically provide care and support via telephone, video calls, or online platforms, handling responsibilities like triage, patient education, case management, and care coordination. Remote RNs play a crucial role in telehealth services, helping patients access care and information without visiting a clinic in person. Their work promotes efficiency, accessibility, and continuity of care for patients across various locations.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Remote 8 Hour RN?

To thrive as a Remote 8 Hour RN, you need an active RN license, strong clinical assessment abilities, and experience in patient care management. Familiarity with telehealth platforms, electronic health records (EHRs), and secure communication systems is typically required. Excellent time management, communication skills, and the ability to work independently are crucial for remote nursing roles. These skills ensure safe, effective patient care and seamless collaboration within virtual healthcare teams.

What are some common challenges faced by Remote 8 Hour RNs, and how can they be addressed?

Remote 8 Hour Registered Nurses (RNs) often encounter challenges such as communication barriers with patients and colleagues, limited access to on-site resources, and managing work-life boundaries while working from home. To address these, it's important to leverage secure digital communication platforms, maintain regular check-ins with multidisciplinary teams, and set clear start and end times for your shifts. Many organizations also provide virtual support resources and ongoing training to help remote RNs stay connected and effective in their roles.

Job description

Position Overview

Bliss Reformation and Wellness Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) to join our team in providing essential mental health support within a remote environment. This full-time position offers the unique opportunity to positively impact the lives of individuals dealing with substance dependency and mental health challenges. With a focus on empowerment, you will evaluate and address the psychosocial needs of clients to foster emotional well-being and recovery.

About the Organization

At Bliss Reformation and Wellness Center, located in Reading, Pennsylvania, we specialize in delivering exceptional mental health services tailored to a diverse population. Our mission is rooted in fostering a supportive environment where clients can achieve personal growth, healing, and empowerment. We understand the unique experiences faced by individuals seeking recovery and work diligently to create a nurturing space for them to regain control over their lives.

Work Environment

This position is remote, allowing for flexibility while ensuring consistent care for our clients. While full-time hours are Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, some evening or weekend hours may be required to meet client needs. Being part of a detox center means you will engage with individuals during pivotal moments of their recovery journey, necessitating on-call availability for urgent situations. Our approach encourages flexibility in scheduling, making it easier to provide continuity of care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate clients' psychosocial needs, focusing on the interplay of emotional, mental, and social factors related to their recovery.
  • Collaborate closely with clients and their families to create personalized care plans that align with individual goals and treatment preferences.
  • Deliver counseling and emotional support to clients and their families, guiding them through critical transitions and challenges associated with recovery.
  • Advocate for clientsโ€™ rights and access to essential community resources, ensuring they receive appropriate and timely support services.
  • Work in conjunction with interdisciplinary teamsโ€”including medical professionals, nurses, and caregiversโ€”to coordinate care and optimize client outcomes.
  • Regularly visit clients to monitor their well-being, assess living conditions, and proactively address any safety or care-related concerns.
  • Facilitate effective communication and conflict resolution among family members involved in client care, promoting a united approach to recovery.
  • Educate clients and their families about available community resources and support groups to enhance social engagement and quality of life.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of client assessments, care plans, therapy notes, and interactions to ensure proper continuity of care.
  • Stay updated on current practices, policies, and regulations in social work to ensure compliance and uphold ethical standards.
Patient Population / Client Focus

You will be working primarily with individuals seeking assistance with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions, notably in a detox environment. This population often faces significant emotional and social challenges, and your role will be crucial in guiding them through the recovery process, helping them develop coping strategies and access necessary resources to facilitate their journey toward healing.

Qualifications
  • A Masterโ€™s degree in Social Work from an accredited institution is required.
  • Current and valid state licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) is essential.
  • A minimum of two years of relevant social work experience, particularly in community health or geriatric settings, is preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of social work principles, aging-related issues, and available support resources.
  • Strong assessment, counseling, and therapeutic skills, demonstrating compassion and empathy towards clients and their families.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to facilitate collaboration across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and other relevant technology is necessary.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience working in rehabilitation, detox, or similar environments where mental health and substance use intersect.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing effective treatment plans tailored to individual client needs.
  • Experience advocating for client rights and navigating community resource systems to enhance client care.
Compensation and Benefits

Bliss Reformation and Wellness Center offers a competitive salary range of USD 90,000 to 100,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition to a robust salary, we provide a comprehensive benefits package that includes:

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance to support your health and well-being.
  • A retirement savings plan with employer-matching contributions to help build your future.
  • Generous paid time off (PTO) and holiday pay to encourage work-life balance.
  • Professional liability insurance coverage for peace of mind in your practice.
  • Opportunities for continuing education and professional development to enhance your skills and career trajectory.
  • Potential for career advancement within our organization as we grow and expand services.
Career Growth Opportunities

At Bliss Reformation and Wellness Center, we are committed to fostering professional growth within our team. As a remote Licensed Clinical Social Worker, you will have access to ongoing training and mentorship, as well as opportunities to take on leadership roles as our center evolves. Our culture encourages and rewards initiative, enabling you to shape your career path in ways that align with your personal and professional goals.
