As an integral member of our mental health care team, you will provide essential therapeutic support to individuals dealing with trauma, specifically focusing on conditions like post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), complex trauma, and dissociative disorders.

Work Environment

This position offers the flexibility of a remote work setting, allowing you to provide support to our patients from the comfort of your home. While you will predominantly work remotely, our outpatient office serves as the central hub for our team, where collaboration with colleagues and access to professional resources is prioritized. Your typical work schedule will run Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with some flexibility required to accommodate patient needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive trauma-informed assessments to evaluate patients' trauma histories, enabling the development of personalized treatment approaches.
  • Create and execute individualized treatment plans focusing on trauma recovery, utilizing evidence-based therapeutic modalities including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).
  • Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, guiding patients through the processing of their trauma and assisting them in developing effective coping strategies.
  • Engage in collaborative care by working alongside psychiatrists and multidisciplinary teams to ensure a holistic approach to patient health.
  • Provide immediate crisis intervention and psychological support during trauma-related emergencies, demonstrating calmness and efficiency.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will work primarily with individuals affected by significant trauma, including those diagnosed with PTSD, complex trauma, and dissociative disorders. Our patients come from varied backgrounds and seek compassionate care to help them navigate their emotional landscapes and heal from their past experiences.

Qualifications
  • A master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Current licensure as an LCMFT, LCPC, LCP, LCSW, or LSCSW in the state of Kansas.
  • Strong understanding of trauma-related disorders and familiarity with trauma-informed treatment modalities.

Preferred Experience
