The ideal candidate has significant experience developing graphics within a major broadcast network, studio, or production environment and advanced proficiency with real-time graphics platforms such as Ross XPression or Vizrt. This individual will independently own complex graphics builds while also providing technical leadership, troubleshooting support, and guidance to other developers.

This is a highly creative and technical position requiring someone who can innovate, learn new technologies quickly, and consistently deliver accurate, polished graphics under demanding live-production deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Primarily utilize Ross XPression, with additional use of Vizrt, to develop and implement broadcast graphics.
  • Independently plan, build, maintain, and update complex graphics directories.
  • Lead graphics development efforts and provide technical direction when collaborating with other developers.
  • Take ownership of event and studio graphics directories, including troubleshooting and production support.
  • Develop 2D and 3D designs and animations using tools such as Adobe Photoshop, After Effects, Illustrator, and Cinema 4D.
  • Translate creative direction and project requirements into customized graphics, animations, and layouts.
  • Support specialty graphics applications such as augmented reality, virtual studios, touchscreens, interactive graphics, and data visualization.
  • Develop project workflows, scripts, tools, and processes that improve graphics development and production efficiency.
  • Research and resolve complex technical issues involving graphics, animation techniques, software, and production workflows.
  • Partner with management and creative teams to establish deliverables, communicate project status, and ensure on-time completion.
  • Support hardware and software upgrades, studio builds, and implementation of new production technology.
  • Train, mentor, and assist other developers while contributing to onboarding and technical training initiatives.
  • Provide technical support to internal teams, remote production personnel, freelancers, and external production partners.
  • Maintain established broadcast design standards and identify deviations from approved graphic formats.
  • Troubleshoot graphics equipment, software, workflow, and production-environment issues.
  • Maintain proper file organization, archiving, and project-retrieval processes.
  • Explore emerging graphics technologies and identify opportunities to enhance live broadcast experiences.
  • Maintain exceptional standards for accuracy, consistency, creativity, and timely delivery.

Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience designing and developing graphics for live productions within a major studio, television network, or production company.
  • Advanced experience with a real-time graphics platform such as Ross XPression or Vizrt.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing real-time graphics within live event or studio production environments.
  • Advanced 2D and 3D animation skills.
  • Strong typography, layout, composition, and visual design capabilities.
  • Strong understanding of broadcast and television production technology and workflows.
  • Ability to independently develop, maintain, troubleshoot, and support complex real-time graphics packages.
  • Experience developing or improving graphics workflows, scripts, and production processes.
  • Ability to research and resolve complex technical and creative challenges independently.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to manage expectations and collaborate with creative, technical, and production stakeholders.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, including accuracy in spelling, grammar, layout, and graphic execution.
  • Ability to learn and implement new software, technologies, techniques, and production workflows.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and occasionally travel to support live television productions.
  • Online portfolio or demo reel demonstrating relevant work is required.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting augmented reality, virtual studios, interactive graphics, touchscreens, or data visualization.
  • Experience mentoring or training graphics developers.
  • Strong knowledge of and interest in sports and sports culture.
What We're Looking For
  • A highly skilled real-time graphics developer who combines strong creative instincts with advanced technical capabilities.
  • Someone comfortable taking ownership of complex graphics packages from concept and development through deployment and live-production support.
  • A creative problem solver who can troubleshoot independently while maintaining accuracy under demanding broadcast deadlines.
  • A collaborative professional who can communicate effectively with designers, developers, producers, technical teams, and other stakeholders.
