Foster Remodeling Solutions- Lorton, VA

Foster Remodeling Solutions is hiring an experienced, hands-on Kitchen & Bath Lead Carpenter to lead residential remodeling projects from preconstruction handoff through final walkthrough. This is a working lead position for a craft professional who can install, coordinate, communicate, and drive each project to a clean, timely close.

THE WORK YOU WILL LEAD

  • Lead kitchen, bathroom, and related interior remodeling projects from demolition through final completion and punch-list closeout.
  • Perform high-quality hands-on work, including cabinet installation, finish carpentry, doors and trim, blocking, framing modifications, hardware, accessories, and detailed punch work.
  • Read plans, elevations, specifications, selections, and schedules; identify conflicts early and communicate practical solutions before they affect the client or timeline.
  • Coordinate trade partners, inspections, material deliveries, and daily site activity so work proceeds in the correct sequence.
  • Protect the client's home and maintain a safe, organized, broom-clean job site every day.
  • Communicate professionally with homeowners, the Production Manager, designers, trade partners, and office staff; provide clear progress updates and document issues promptly.
  • Inspect workmanship throughout the project, maintain quality standards, and drive every job to a complete and professional closeout.
  • Mentor carpenters and apprentices by setting clear expectations for craftsmanship, productivity, safety, and respect for the client's home.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Typically, 10 or more years of progressively responsible residential remodeling or carpentry experience, including demonstrated responsibility for leading projects, crews, or trade partners. Equivalent combinations of relevant experience and training will be considered.
  • Strong kitchen and bath remodeling expertise, especially cabinet installation, finish carpentry, layout, trim, and project detailing.
  • Working knowledge of residential framing, drywall, and plumbing/electrical trade coordination; tile preparation and installation experience is desirable.
  • Ability to read plans, plan work ahead, solve field conditions, sequence trades, and maintain a realistic project schedule.
  • Professional communication with homeowners, sound judgment, and the ability to take responsibility for the job site.
  • High standards for quality, cleanliness, safety, and follow-through.
  • Valid driver's license and a driving record that meets company and insurance requirements; regular driving between project sites is an essential function of the position.
  • High school diploma or GED.

What we provide

  • Steady, year-round work- no "feast-or-famine", no lay offs every winter
  • Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM-3:30 PM. Home for dinner.
  • Medical, dental & vision (company contributes), plus short & long-term disability
  • 401(k) retirement plan with company match
  • Paid vacation, holidays, and sick leave
  • Project performance & change-order bonuses, plus employee referral bonuses
  • Company vehicle (with a good driving record) or mileage reimbursement
  • Tool purchase assistance and Red Wing boots on us
  • Company training & educational assistance- We invest in people who plan to stay
  • An existing staff with decades-long careers within the company, real longevity
