Job description

Licensed Plumber

Plumbing Contractor License Required

Water Heater Medic | Central Indiana
Full-Time

Water Heater Medic is a veteran-owned, family-operated plumbing and HVAC company serving Central Indiana. We are looking for an experienced Licensed Plumber to join our team.

We are a small company, and we intend to keep the good parts of being small: knowing the people you work with, treating customers like people, and doing quality work without turning every service call into a sales competition.

What You'll Do

As a Licensed Plumber, you will perform residential and light commercial plumbing service, repair, installation, and remodeling work. Jobs may include:

  • Water heater repair and replacement, including tankless systems
  • Plumbing troubleshooting and repair
  • Drain and sewer repair
  • Sump pumps and sewage ejector/lift station systems
  • Bathroom plumbing and remodeling
  • Fixture, faucet, toilet, and disposal installation and repair
  • Water and drain line installation and repair
  • New construction and renovation plumbing
  • Plumbing inspections and diagnostics
  • Assisting with and mentoring apprentice plumbers when needed
  • Communicating clearly with customers about findings and repair options
  • Completing job documentation accurately

What We're Looking For

  • Current plumbing contractor license
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
  • Experience performing residential and/or commercial plumbing work
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in the field
  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
  • Dependable, professional, and able to work as part of a small team
  • Willingness to teach and work alongside apprentices
  • Pride in doing the job correctly, not just quickly

How We Do Business

We believe customers deserve an honest assessment of what is wrong, what their options are, and what those options will cost.

We do not expect our plumbers to sell customers repairs, replacements, or upgrades they do not need.

There are no high-pressure sales tactics or quotas requiring you to turn every service call into a major ticket. We want our plumbers to build trust, solve problems, and provide work they are comfortable putting their name on.

What We Offer

  • Competitive pay based on experience and qualifications
  • Paid time off
  • Full-time, year-round work
  • Small, locally owned company environment
  • Opportunity to work on a variety of plumbing projects
  • Support from an experienced plumbing team
  • Opportunities to mentor apprentices and help develop the next generation of tradespeople
  • A workplace where experience and professional judgment are valued

Who Will Fit In Here

You may be a great fit if you are an experienced plumber who is tired of being treated like a salesperson with a pipe wrench.

We want someone who can walk into a customer's home, diagnose the problem, explain it clearly, give them reasonable options, and fix it correctly. We value integrity, craftsmanship, reliability, common sense, and treating customers and coworkers with respect.

Water Heater Medic is an equal opportunity employer. Employment decisions are based on qualifications, experience, performance, and the needs of the business.
