Job description

This is a banking position (position is temp-to-perm)


We are seeking an Operations Specialist to support the Bank's Loan Servicing Operations team. This individual will be responsible for payment administration, general ledger reconciliations, loan accounting activities, suspense account management, remittance processing, and operational support related to the loan portfolio. The ideal candidate will have banking operations experience, strong reconciliation skills, a solid understanding of debits and credits, and experience working with loan servicing or loan accounting processes.


Job Requirements

  • Perform daily payment administration activities, including payment setup, modifications, wire payments, and loan disbursements.
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts related to loan servicing operations.
  • Manage customer payment suspense accounts and resolve outstanding reconciling items.
  • Process remittances, official checks, and non-posted loan transactions.
  • Review loan trial balances and assist with month-end loan servicing reconciliation packages.
  • Research and respond to loan inquiries from internal departments.
  • Maintain loan check inventory and monitor stale-dated checks.
  • Perform daily quality control reviews to ensure operational accuracy and compliance.
  • Assist with internal and external audits by gathering documentation and responding to audit requests.
  • Support corporate loan payment administration and disbursement functions.
  • Identify and resolve loan servicing accounting discrepancies and reconciliation issues.
  • Ensure compliance with BSA, AML, OFAC, and all applicable banking regulations.
  • Provide operational support to other departments as needed.


Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 1โ€“3 years of banking operations, loan servicing, loan accounting, or reconciliation experience.
  • Experience with general ledger reconciliations and account balancing.
  • Strong understanding of debits, credits, and accounting fundamentals.
  • Experience within a loan servicing, loan operations, or deposit operations environment preferred.
  • Knowledge of payment processing, wire transfers, suspense accounts, and remittance processing.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and banking software systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of banking regulations, compliance requirements, and operational controls.
