Zing is hiring a Lockbox Processing Associate to join a fast-paced production team responsible for processing incoming customer payments. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates interested in finance, accounting, banking operations, or payment processing. General Summary
The Lockbox Processing Associate is an entry-level position responsible for processing incoming customer payments in a secure, high-volume production environment. Daily responsibilities include sorting mail, opening envelopes, scanning documents, performing basic data entry, and preparing processed remittance for delivery.
Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to work efficiently while maintaining production and quality standards.
Essential Job Duties
  • Sort, open, and organize incoming mail for processing.
  • Operate high-speed OPEX scanners to scan payment documents.
  • Perform basic data entry, including entering payment amounts and other required information.
  • Prepare and package processed remittance for client and/or bank delivery.
  • Follow established procedures to ensure all work is processed accurately, securely, and according to client specifications.
  • Maintain established productivity and quality standards in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Cross-train in other departments and assist with additional operational tasks as business needs require.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Site Manager.

Qualifications
Required
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 6+ months of experience in non-cashier payment processing, invoice processing, high volume accounts payable/accounts receivable, billing, remittance processing, document processing, or other finance/accounting-related administrative work; OR education in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
  • Basic computer skills and the ability to learn new systems.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to work independently.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, production-focused environment.
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.

Preferred
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related field. College students and Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • Experience using a 10-key keypad.
  • Experience with document imaging, mail processing, payment processing, lockbox operations, invoicing, accounts payable, or accounts receivable.
  • Familiarity with working in a HIPAA-compliant environment.

Performance Expectations
Following completion of training, associates are expected to maintain established quality and productivity standards. Depending on daily business volume and workflow, this typically includes processing approximately 600 to 800 envelopes per hour while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
