Job description

Position Summary:

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Service Technician to install, maintain, and repair equipment and systems for our customers. The ideal candidate will have strong technical abilities, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality service. This role involves diagnosing issues, performing routine maintenance, and ensuring all work is completed safely and efficiently. Service Technicians may work on-site at our location or at customer locations and are expected to communicate effectively with clients and team members while maintaining accurate service records.

Core Responsibilities & Essential Functions

  • Direct and coordinate customer requests for service of equipment.
  • Confer with supervisors and engineering personnel to resolve design and/or operational problems with Granco Clark equipment.
  • Assess and resolve customer complaints relating to service.
  • Assist with the commissioning activities of Granco Clark where needed.
  • Assist with on-floor testing of equipment where needed.
  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of service-related documents. Create new documents as needed or requested.
  • Keep management informed of current issues relating to customer satisfaction.
  • Promote the service department to all customers while representing Granco Clark in a professional, productive, and helpful manner.
  • Analyze equipment problems and prepare technical reports for use by engineering and management.
  • Extensive travel is a requirement of this position.
  • Respond to and resolve requests for technical support from customers and other departments.
  • Assist with Part Sales
  • Directs the layout of equipment being installed.
  • Directs the connecting of electrical wiring and cables as required.
  • Directs the sequence and installation of mechanical equipment.
  • Completes any Quality System records/activities requirements.
  • Assist with getting Installation quotes.
  • Manages installation crews whether supplied by us or the customer.
  • Answer Afterhours support calls and assist customers as necessary.
  • Complete other responsibilities as assigned.

What You Bring

  • Solid understanding of the systems you will service (electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, etc.).
  • Ability to read schematics, manuals and diagnostic tools.
  • Troubleshooting and repair expertise.
  • Familiarity with relevant software or diagnostic equipment, i.e. Allen Bradley software.
  • Ability to quickly identify root causes – not just symptoms.
  • Logical thinking under pressure.
  • Patience to explain technical issues clearly to non-technical customers.
  • Accurate service reporting and documenting.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Customer service mindset.
  • Efficient worker that knows how to prioritize.
  • Understands and follows safety protocols.
