Job description

We are ideally looking for a full time, but will consider part time / PRN / Contract nurse practitioner or physician assistant. For full time will be 3- 12 hour shifts and an alternating 6 hour shift on Sunday. For PRN anywhere from 1-4 shifts available per week. Individual will be a solo practitioner so experience is required.

Support staffing will include one front office receptionist, one MA, and one x-ray tech. Patient volume is usually 1-2 per hour.

MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

The responsibilities of the Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant will include:

  • Order and interpret indicated diagnostic testing based upon evidence-based medicine and clinical practice guidelines
  • Utilize AdvancedMD electronic medical record (EMR)
  • Perform minor procedures including but not limited to suturing and neoplasm removal
  • Counseling and educating patients on health behaviors, self-care skills and treatment options
  • Diagnosing and treating acute illnesses, infections and injuries
  • Diagnosing, treating, and monitoring chronic diseases (e.g., diabetes, high blood pressure)
  • Obtaining medical histories and conducting physical examinations
  • Ordering, performing and interpreting diagnostic studies (e.g., lab tests, x-rays, EKGs)
  • Prescribing medications
  • Prescribing physical therapy and other rehabilitation treatments
  • Providing prenatal care and family planning services
  • Providing well-child care, including screening and immunizations
  • Providing health maintenance care for adults, including annual physicals
  • See patients 12 months and older
