How does the relocation bonus process typically work for new hires, and what should I expect when accepting a role that offers this benefit?

When a company offers a relocation bonus, it's usually provided as a lump sum or reimbursement to help cover moving expenses related to starting your new role. The process often involves submitting receipts or documentation for approved expenses, such as moving services, temporary housing, or travel costs. Some companies provide the bonus upfront, while others reimburse after costs are incurred. Be sure to clarify what expenses are eligible and whether there are any repayment requirements if you leave the company within a certain period. Discussing these details with HR before accepting the offer can help set clear expectations and avoid surprises.
