Job Title: Financial Accounting Manager

Location (city, state): Richmond, VA (100% Onsite)

Compensation: $120,000 - $135,000 / Year + Bonus + Relocation Assistance if needed.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead the month-end and year-end close process, including preparation and review of journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
  • Manage general ledger accounting activities related to revenue, inventory, fixed assets, purchasing, and balance sheet accounts.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
  • Partner with operational accounting teams to ensure Order-to-Cash and Procure-to-Pay transactions are accurately reflected in the general ledger.
  • Assist with maintaining and strengthening internal controls and accounting processes.
  • Support external audits and compliance requirements.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and increased efficiencies across accounting operations.
  • Mentor and review the work of accounting staff while helping build and scale the accounting function.
  • Collaborate closely with the Director of Accounting and executive leadership team as the organization continues to grow.

Requirements:

  • Bachelorโ€™s Degree in Accounting required.
  • CPA required.
  • 7-10 years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Experience as an Accounting Manager, Accounting Supervisor, Assistant Controller, Technical Accounting Manager, or strong Senior Accountant.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting.
  • Experience leading month-end close and managing general ledger accounting functions.
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally and communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and process improvement skills.
  • Experience within construction, engineering, consulting, IT services, manufacturing, or project-based environments is a plus.
  • Experience with Microsoft Business Central is preferred.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
