Job Title: Retirement Plan Design Specialist

Locations: Braintree, MA, | Kansas City, MO | Dublin, OH-~ Hybrid

About the Role

The Retirement Plan Design Team provides document and regulatory services for Retirement Solutions. The Retirement Plan Design Specialists focus on providing consultative services for qualified retirement plans, including but not limited to pre-sale support, post-sale support, document design, amendments, restatements, and regulatory changes. The Retirement Plan Design Specialists utilize their ERISA knowledge and experience to design plans and educate plan sponsors to help meet company's goals and objectives. The Retirement Plan Design Specialists work closely with associates in Account Management, Implementation, Conversions, and Reporting and Testing.

How You Will Make an Impact

  • Creates plan documents and conducts a complete, section-by-section review of prospective plan documents, including, but not limited to, adoption agreements and plan amendments to ensure compatibility with standard preapproved documents and client offerings
  • Identify potential operational, administrative, and systems issues, validate available capabilities, or identify areas where support may be restricted
  • Collaborates with plan sponsors and institutional clients to provide new or existing clients with interpretations of plan provisions
  • Ensures the accurate preparation and completion of plan documents as directed by plan sponsors
  • Offer pre-sale and post-sale support to sales representatives, internal business partners, and institutional clients.
  • Assess the suitability of prospective plans and ensure they meet all ERISA qualification requirements.

Required Experience

  • Minimally Master or Bachelor's degree with 2 -5 years of retirement plan related work experience. Experience in plan design or plan administration preferred.
  • Detailed plan design and documentation knowledge, including familiarity with preapproved plan documents
  • Familiarity with all retirement plan types, including profit sharing, 401(k) money purchase, 401(a) 403(B), 457(b) and 457(f)
  • ERISA proficient
  • Effective communication skills: verbal, written and active listening

What Sets You Apart (preferred qualifications)

  • ASPPA (CPC, QPA, QKC, or QKA), CEBS, TGPC, or other professional designation preferred.
  • Detailed knowledge of the retirement industry and product trends.
  • Ideal candidate will have experience with FIS Relius, ASC DGEM, or FT Williams systems.
  • Able to work in the local office 6 days per month.
