Job description

Job Title:Sr. Electrical Reliability EngineerSummary:As the Sr. Electrical Reliability Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining and improving the reliability of all electrical assets across the plant. This includes, but is not limited to, electrical distribution equipment such as substations, transformers, switchgear, and protective relays, as well as low- and medium-voltage motor controls, variable frequency drives (VFDs)/soft starters, PLCs, UPS and battery charger systems, and electric heat tracing systems.
Please note that this role requires onsite presence five days per week, Monday through Friday

EHS

  • Consistently demonstrates a high regard for personal safety, for the safety of company assets, employees, and the public.

  • Ensures compliance with Momentive's EHS Management Systems, Momentive's Cybersecurity Requirements plus all local, state and federal regulations.

  • Responsible for safety on project work and maintenance related activities not limited to MPM employees but also contractors & vendors.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develops and optimizes Routine and Predictive PMs for existing and new electrical equipment. Reviews PM results and updates accordingly.

  • Proactively identify and resolve electrical issues to support and improve efficiency of the site manufacturing facilities.

  • Provides troubleshooting support for the maintenance electrician group to resolve equipment malfunctions.

  • Updates, creates and conducts periodic reviews of plant electrical procedures as required. Field audit adherence to policies to ensure compliance.

  • Coordinates with plant electrical staff and multiple outside contractors to plan and execute an annual plant electrical shutdown which includes maintenance and upgrades to 138kV switchgear, 138kV / 4160V distribution transformers, 4160V switchgear breakers, protective relays, 4160V / 480V substation transformers and 480V main feeder breakers.

  • Organize and conduct training and skills qualification testing for the maintenance electrician group.

  • Serve as the site Electrical Classification lead and the Authority Having Jurisdiction for the site.

  • Supports the design, installation and commissioning of capital projects where electrical expertise is necessary.

  • Maintain the plant's relay coordination studies and arc flash hazard analysis to include performing short-circuit, protective device coordination and arc flash calculations using industry-standard software.

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

The following are required for the role

  • BS degree or higher in Electrical Engineering.

  • 5+ Years of electrical experience within an industrial chemical manufacturing environment.

  • Strong understanding of codes and standards (NEC, NFPA, IEEE).

  • Excellent interpersonal skills are essential.

  • Strong safety consciousness, strong EHS awareness and familiarity with EHS requirements.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook / Office / Excel/ PowerPoint etc. - computer basics.

  • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects.

The following are preferred qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with plant electrical equipment maintenance and troubleshooting (motors, motor control centers, variable frequency drives, soft-starters, etc).

  • Proficiency with the following:

  • SAP

  • OSI PI data management platform

  • AutoCAD

  • SKM Power System Software
