Job Description

The Facilities and Maintenance Manager is responsible for the leadership, reliability, and performance of all facility maintenance operations. This role ensures building systems, equipment, utilities, and infrastructure operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with regulatory and company standards. The Facilities and Maintenance Manager leads maintenance personnel, manages contractors, oversees capital and maintenance budgets, drives preventive maintenance strategies, and partners cross-functionally to support operational excellence.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Leads, develops, and mentors the facilities maintenance team while fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Establishes maintenance priorities that align with production objectives and business needs.
  • Partners with Operations, Cultivation, Processing, Compliance, Security, and other departments to ensure reliable facility performance.
  • Directs the maintenance and reliability of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, controls, irrigation, utilities, and building systems.
  • Develops and executes preventive and predictive maintenance programs that maximize equipment uptime and asset life.
  • Drives root cause analysis and corrective actions to reduce equipment failures and improve system reliability.
  • Oversees CMMS performance, including work order management, preventive maintenance compliance, asset records, and maintenance documentation.
  • Monitors and improves key performance indicators including PM compliance, MTTR, downtime, backlog, labor productivity, equipment reliability, and maintenance costs.
  • Utilizes maintenance data to identify trends, improve performance, and support operational decision-making.
  • Develops and manages maintenance operating budgets, capital planning, and equipment replacement strategies.
  • Manage contractors, service providers, and facility projects to ensure quality, safety, budget compliance, and timely completion.
  • Identifies and implements cost-saving and continuous improvement initiatives without compromising reliability or safety.
  • Ensures compliance with OSHA, company policies, environmental regulations, fire codes, and applicable local, state, and federal requirements.
  • Leads facility readiness for audits, inspections, and regulatory reviews.
  • Promotes safe work practices and ensure adherence to LOTO, electrical safety, PPE, and life safety requirements.
  • Performs other duties as assigned


Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be able to obtain a state medical marijuana badge and pass a background check.
  • Must be able to communicate with GDF Team effectively and professionally.
  • Must perform under high pressure situations.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle high stress situations.

Education & Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or can substitute experience for a degree.
  • Two to four years’ experience
  • Supervisory experience with Facility Maintenance experience preferred.
  • Knowledgeable in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, pumps and automated machinery, and ability to troubleshoot electrical, welding, pneumatic, hydraulic systems, plumbing, HVAC and building systems.
  • Ability to read blueprints and electrical schematics.
  • Advanced computer knowledge (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)


Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • The ability to respond quickly to sounds.
  • The ability to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces.
  • The ability to see and respond to dangerous situations.
  • The ability to wear personal protective gear correctly most of the day.
  • The ability to sit or stand for up to 12 hours at a time.
  • The ability to work in bright/hot/humid conditions.
  • The ability to work in low light situations.
