Purpose of Job
  • Executes the electrical regulatory compliance and reliability improvement processes for assigned operating units and equipment.
  • Works closely with the unit, maintenance, process managers/superintendents to define improvement opportunities and maximize electrical safety and reliability

Key Accountabilities
Leads efficient and effective delivery of Electrical Reliability Services by:
  • Providing subject matter expertise for NFPA 70B based electrical maintenance practices and developing Reliability PM procedures
  • Providing Subject Matter Expertise for all electrical issues within the assigned units
  • Providing field support to Maintenance for electrical troubleshooting.
  • Having good working knowledge of SAP and Developing PM Plans along with electrical testing scoping in SAP
  • Providing subject matter expertise on high and medium voltage power distribution system up to 69 kV voltage system including ABB REMs and SELs protection relays
  • Ensuring units maintain compliance with all Electrical Regulatory requirements. Drives to minimize CTO waivers and provides strategies to support continued operation
  • Supports execution of reliability improvement and life cycle cost optimization for electrical assets to include PM/PdM strategies, spare parts evaluations, and defect elimination
  • In coordination with Maintenance Dept, develops switching orders, isolation plans, electrical risk assessments, and testing/inspection scope of work documents per NFPA 70B to support safe and effective electrical system outages required to ensure proper PM Testing and Inspections are completed
  • Supports all elements of reliability issues and resolution and drives implementation of reliability improvement plans to increase MTBF and eliminate repeat failures for assigned units
  • Supports the development and drives execution the Electrical Reliability Mechanical Integrity Program and site Process Safety Management Procedures in support of the assigned units/equipment, including Transformer Oil Analysis, UPS/Battery PM, PdMA Motor Testing, Ultrasonic Testing, and Thermography

Formal Education
  • Relevant Associated Degree- required

Working Experience
  • 6+ years of practical electrical equipment experience in an industrial facility. Experience demonstrates increasing levels of technical competency and responsibility to lead reliability initiatives and drive improvement.

Required Personal and Professional Skills
  • Sound knowledge of applicable codes and standards including NFPA 70B and NFPA 70E
  • Effective oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Team oriented values driven individual demonstrating data driven decision making, cultural sensitivity, business acumen, professional demeanor, excellent time management skills, and unquestionable integrity.
  • Demonstrated soft skill expertise as it relates to presentations, public speaking, interpersonal communication, conflict resolution, and relationship building.
  • History of proven leadership to deliver a positive organizational culture focused on delivering solutions is support of operational safety and process optimization.
  • Proven budget development and adherence experience.
