Knoxville, TN | Technology Operations Manager | Full-Time
Due to client request, candidates must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.Position OverviewThe Technology Operations Manager will lead a team responsible for enterprise infrastructure, systems administration, and day-to-day technology operations. This role combines people leadership, operational oversight, and technical guidance to ensure a secure, reliable, and high-performing technology environment. The successful candidate will possess strong leadership abilities along with the technical expertise needed to mentor engineers, resolve complex issues, and support strategic technology initiatives.Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Systems Administrators and Infrastructure professionals.
  • Establish team priorities, delegate work, and ensure operational objectives are achieved.
  • Drive initiatives related to infrastructure reliability, performance, availability, and security.
  • Collaborate with technology and security teams to implement improvements and maintain operational excellence.
  • Support infrastructure modernization efforts, system upgrades, and technology projects.
  • Oversee system monitoring, maintenance activities, patch management, backups, and operational readiness.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, efficiency, service quality, and overall team effectiveness.
  • Participate in technology planning, budgeting, and resource allocation discussions.
  • Provide leadership during critical incidents and assist with resolution of escalated technical issues.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, customer service, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
  • Experience leading, mentoring, or managing technical IT professionals.
  • Strong experience supporting enterprise Microsoft environments.
  • Hands-on experience with:
    • Windows Server
    • Active Directory
    • Azure Active Directory / Entra ID
    • Enterprise systems administration
    • Infrastructure operations and support
  • Solid understanding of networking concepts including LAN/WAN, VPN, and wireless technologies.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and effectively lead through change.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor''s degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Previous IT management experience.
