Overview
Senior People Services (Human Resources) Coordinator
Position Overview
Magnolia Hotel Omaha is seeking a dedicated and highly organized Senior People Services Coordinator to support the hotel's day-to-day People Services functions.
This is a full-time, on-site position. Because this individual will serve as the hotel's only on-site Human Resources representative, they must be comfortable working independently, taking ownership of the function, and leading by example. The successful candidate will be visible, approachable, professional, and committed to modeling the standards and behaviors expected of all hotel team members.
This role is intentionally designed to provide the right candidate with the opportunity to develop into a People Services Manager position. Advancement will be based on demonstrated performance, professional growth, sound judgment, leadership readiness, and the evolving needs of the hotel.
The ideal candidate genuinely enjoys the Human Resources discipline and takes pride in supporting team members, maintaining accurate processes, and helping create a positive workplace. This individual must have a strong work ethic and be organized, methodical, dependable, and committed to following responsibilities through to completion.
This position requires a consistent presence at the hotel. Remote and hybrid work arrangements are not being considered at this time.
Growth Opportunity
This role offers the opportunity to gradually assume greater responsibility in areas such as employee relations, compliance, recruiting strategy, training, team member engagement, performance management, and leadership consultation.
For the right individual who demonstrates consistent performance, initiative, sound judgment, technical Human Resources knowledge, and the ability to independently support the hotel's People Services function, this position may evolve into a Human Resources Manager role. This career progression is not automatic or guaranteed and will depend on individual readiness, sustained performance, and business needs.

Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary on-site Human Resources contact for hotel team members and leaders.
  • Lead by example by consistently demonstrating professionalism, accountability, confidentiality, reliability, and respect.
  • Maintain a visible and approachable presence throughout the hotel and build positive working relationships with team members at all levels.
  • Support recruitment activities using the iCIMS Applicant Tracking System, including posting positions, reviewing applications, coordinating interviews, preparing offers, and completing pre-employment requirements.
  • Coordinate the onboarding process and ensure new team members receive a professional and engaging introduction to the hotel.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential team member files, employment records, and Human Resources documentation.
  • Process team member information and employment changes in UKG Pro, including new hires, transfers, promotions, compensation changes, and separations.
  • Assist team members with general questions regarding policies, benefits, payroll, timekeeping, and workplace procedures.
  • Monitor required training and support timely completion of company and legally mandated programs.
  • Assist with benefits enrollment, leave administration, workers' compensation documentation, and related follow-up.
  • Provide initial support with employee relations matters by gathering information, maintaining thorough documentation, and escalating concerns appropriately.
  • Help coordinate team member recognition programs, engagement activities, meetings, celebrations, and other culture-building initiatives.
  • Support hotel leaders in consistently applying company policies and Human Resources procedures.
  • Track important deadlines and maintain organized calendars, reports, checklists, and follow-up systems.
  • Support compliance with federal, state, and local employment requirements, as well as company standards.
  • Partner closely with hotel leadership and corporate People Services while independently managing the hotel's daily on-site Human Resources needs.
  • Perform additional Human Resources and administrative responsibilities as assigned.

  • Ability to recognize when a matter should be escalated to hotel leadership or Regional People Services.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous Human Resources experience within a hotel, hospitality, or service-industry environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or a related field. Equivalent relevant experience will also be considered.
  • Familiarity with employee relations, benefits, leave administration, workers' compensation, and employment compliance.
  • Working knowledge of and hands-on experience with the iCIMS Applicant Tracking System.
  • Working knowledge of and hands-on experience with UKG Pro.
