Job description

Position Summary

Provides project management for large multi-jurisdictional projects and work streams including capital projects, time and pay simplification, business continuity planning, and other initiatives. Leads projects to achieve stakeholder support at all levels and meet key milestones and metrics. Communicates project status at all levels of the organization and externally.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Project Management: Independently manage and oversee project deliverables to enable successful execution of strategic projects. Define roadmap, track and report progress, resolve risks, and achieve key milestones.

  • Project Planning: Define project deliverables and timelines, involve and work through key stakeholders, develop comprehensive solution designs, and secure necessary approvals. Create work plans, schedules, and cost/benefit estimates, while managing project budgets and identifying risks.

  • Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration: Establish and maximize internal and external partnerships including labor relations consultants, internal HR centers of excellence, legal, operations, and internal and external union when necessary. Lead meetings with leaders and stakeholders to drive alignment and outcomes. Coordinate efforts across diverse stakeholder groups to enhance effectiveness, efficiency, and impact.

  • Utilize data and technology in project management, planning, and execution. Analyze, visualize, and present data and results. Create reports and dashboards to support strategic objectives.

  • Process Management: Lead initiatives that unlock capacity and synergies between jurisdictional labor groups, continuously improving workflows in alignment with company and agile methodologies.

  • Some travel for project deliverables is required.

  • Location is either Minnesota or Colorado

Minimum Requirements:
  • BA/BS in Business, Human Resources or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • 7 years work experience.

  • Demonstrated project management experience, ability to facilitate, train, lead, influence others, and adapt to change quickly.

  • Experience with providing work direction to diverse/distributed work teams.

  • Effective written and verbal communication, collaboration, and stakeholder engagement.

  • Understanding of lean principles, process improvement, organizational design, HR and Labor processes, project planning and business need justification process and methodology.

  • Experience with unionized workforces and understanding of labor relations processes.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Utility or regulated industry experience preferred.

  • Project or program management certification; data analysis and visualization; experience with HR data and processes; knowledge of organizational design, resource planning
