About the Job:
The Senior Manager, Global Storytelling and Public Relations is a strategic storyteller who drives and executes global external communications initiatives that bring Yum! Brands' corporate narrative to life. You are equally comfortable shaping big-picture storytelling ideas as you are developing content that enhances the company's reputation, elevates executive visibility, and supports key business priorities. You know how to connect the dots across brands, functions, and regions, collaborating closely with diverse stakeholders to ensure stories are cohesive, compelling, and aligned with the company's global mission. You are a fast learner who can quickly develop a strong understanding of Yum! Brands' business strategy, culture, and communications priorities.
You will be required to attend the Louisville, KY or Plano, TX office three days per week (Tuesday - Thursday).
Salary Range:
$142,500 - $167,600 + bonus eligibility. This is the expected salary range for this position. Ultimately, in determining pay, we'll consider the successful candidate's location, experience, and other job-related factors.
Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Execute global storytelling and public relations strategy, in alignment with corporate goals and enterprise direction, to enhance brand reputation.
  • Identify, prioritize, and manage high-level media opportunities, including speaking engagements
  • Oversee and develop clear, accurate communications materials, including press releases, briefing materials, statements, talking points, FAQs, speeches, long-form stories for owned channels, social media content, blogs, videos, slides, fact sheets, and other materials.
  • Oversee editorial standards, prioritization, and quality for yum.com newsroom content and website copy, ensuring alignment with enterprise storytelling, brand voice, and communications strategy.
  • Collaborate with internal and brand teams to ensure consistent messaging across all channels.
  • Manage the development and execution of external communications materials in support of quarterly and annual earnings, in close partnership with Investor Relations, Legal, and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Maintain awareness of financial media coverage to inform executive messaging and positioning.
  • Support the Yum! Brands Issues Management Crisis Response Center of Excellence with issue management support, as needed.

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field; master's degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in public relations, media relations, or corporate communications, ideally within large, complex, global organizations or agencies supporting large enterprises.
  • Demonstrated ability to oversee the execution of complex, high-visibility communications programs across multiple stakeholders and workstreams.
  • Strong critical thinking and business acumen, with the ability to assess enterprise-level business objectives, prioritize opportunities, and inform effective communications strategies.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to set editorial standards and deliver high-quality materials under tight deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, sound judgment, and adaptability in a fast-paced, global environment.
  • Experience managing external agencies and vendors, including providing strategic direction, oversight, and performance management.
  • Proficiency in communications analytics and measurement to evaluate performance, optimize execution, and inform strategic decision-making.
  • Advanced cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to align stakeholders across brands, functions, and regions.
