Job description

The Public Relations Manager for Monster Jam will assist in in providing strategic public relations guidance and communication for Monster Jam in all markets. This individual must be highly organized, a self-starter and have experience in sports public relations and media. Overall duties include managing public relations campaigns, media relations, and creating public relations assets. Organization and attention to detail are essential.

Essential Job Functions
  • Assist in coordinating the overall Public Relations efforts for Monster Jam.
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of publicity materials, including press releases, infographics, and media recaps.
  • Assist in managing the day-to-day needs of the touring units with the Event Marketing & Sales team and Corporate Partners.
  • Assist in identifying media trends and developing tactics to maximize opportunities for Monster Jam.
  • Draft and distribute targeted pitch letters, press releases, and media advisories to national media and influencers.
  • Cultivate and leverage strong, ongoing relationships with key industry journalists and influencers.
  • Liaise with media, Monster Jam athletes, and operations teams to promote events and streamline resources.
  • Assist with media training sessions for drivers and staff as it pertains to assigned tours.
  • Manage ticket requests for national press, VIPs, influencers, and charity partners.
  • Manage the daily tracking of the Monster Jam PR budget.
  • Support the Monster Jam Public Relations team in execution of special PR projects, celebrity, content creator, influencer, and charity events.
Job Qualifications
  • College degree required (degree or related expertise in public relations, journalism, communications, or marketing preferred).
  • 3-5 years’ PR experience, preferably in the sports and/or entertainment industry.
  • Demonstrated experience leading PR campaigns and media strategy.
  • Strong knowledge of media relations, influencer engagement, and PR tools.
  • Highly organized with strong project management and multitasking abilities.
  • Experience managing influencer or creator engagement programs preferred.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience developing reporting dashboards and communications infrastructure preferred.
  • Strong organizational, project, and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple campaigns simultaneously in a fast-paced environment, while being fiscally responsible.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to build professional relationships and work well with all personality types. Ability to interface with multiple levels of management within and outside the organization.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Team-oriented; highly flexible and resourceful.
  • Ability to travel (approximately 30% of the time).
  • Demonstrated proficiency in using Smartsheet, media monitoring software programs, and Microsoft Office software programs – PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in pitching media stories and story placement.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in creating PowerPoint presentations and being able to present clearly to various levels of leadership.
