  • Alafia Mental Health Institute is a community-based non-profit mental health agency dedicated to improving the well-being of individuals and families. The Mental Health Therapist provides direct clinical services to children, adolescents, adults, and their families via telehealth, in our community clinics and in our contracted schools. The therapist is responsible for assessment, treatment planning, individual and family therapy, referral to psychiatric and case management services, and coordination of care in accordance with the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Conduct Intake Assessment and Clinical Diagnostic Evaluation, provide coordination of treatment planning and implementation, and develop the service plans.

    Demonstrate intervention techniques and provide behavioral interventions in a manner consistent with the individualized service plan and mental health objectives.

    Provide family, individual, and group psychotherapeutic interventions that are school and family centered, and strengths based.

    Maintain timely clinical documentation in compliance with DMH and Medi-Cal standards.

    Provide direct case management interventions as required

    Participate weekly clinical supervision, team meetings, case consultations, and trainings to support professional development and quality care including Evidenced Based Practice training.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, Social Work, Psychology or related field required. Current CA licensure or registration (Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, Associate Clinical Social Worker, Associate Professional Clinical Counselor) in active status with State of California Board of Behavioral Sciences or Board of Psychology required. Bi-lingual in English and Spanish a plus.

    ADDIDTIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

    Criminal background clearance with (FBI, DOJ, and CAI)

    Complete a physical examination, T.B. test clearance

    Satisfactory proof of your identity and your legal authorization to work in the United States. If you fail to submit this proof, federal law prohibits us from hiring you.
