Great Lakes Regional Sales Manager

Since 1972, we’ve been the leader in underlayment, having pioneered Gyp-Crete – the most widely used underlayment anywhere. Maxxonis recognized worldwide as the pioneer and leader in floor technologies. Our expertise in the flooring industry is second to none.

Our Opportunity

The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for driving growth, revenue, and profitability across Maxxon's Great Lakes Region, including ND, SD, IA, MN, IL, WI, IN, OH, MI, and Ontario, Canada. Critical to the success of the position includes:

  • Revenue growth and market penetration of both multifamily and commercial segments
  • Existing customer management and new customer development
  • Lead generation, prospecting, and sales conversion within the assigned region
Essential Functions
  • Provide technical support to the Maxxon applicator network throughout the Great Lakes Region.
  • Train new and existing applicators and distributors (if applicable) on the installation of Maxxon products.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships across the applicator network.
  • Represent Maxxon at national and local trade shows.
  • Increase product awareness of both multifamily and commercial products through presentations, phone conversations, and email communications.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with architects, builders, consultants, and general contractors, and provide technical support throughout the region.
  • Develop sales and training presentations and handouts to educate the Maxxon applicator network.
  • Present the Maxxon product line to architectural firms and general contractors to increase product specifications and use.
  • Manage and resolve problem-floor investigations on behalf of Maxxon and the applicator network.
  • Monitor competitive activity within the region.
  • Collaborate with Marketing to identify messaging that supports sales efforts and to secure product and customer specification information.
Ideal candidate Will
  • 5+ years of building-product sales management experience.
  • A strong customer-service orientation and commitment to developing long-term relationships.
  • Ability to consult with architects on how floor/ceiling assemblies achieve desired acoustical ratings.
  • Ability to lead and develop marketing initiatives within the region.
  • Versatility and the ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment.
  • Proven success managing a profit center, including meeting regional sales and financial objectives, forecasting, preparing annual budgets, scheduling sales and marketing expenditures, and implementing changes when needed.
  • Excellent customer-service and presentation skills.
  • Ability to become a trusted, honest advisor to current and prospective customers regarding underlayment, sound control, and small-business needs.
  • Ability to act quickly on customer concerns, investigate situations, and recommend solutions.
