Job Summary 

The Regional Director of Quality is a key operational and technical leader responsible for driving quality excellence across a defined multi-state region. This role ensures adherence to Loenbro's Quality Management System (QMS), fosters continuous improvement, and provides hands-on support to field operations, fabrication, and project teams. 

This director-level leader works closely with the VP of Quality, Regional Operations leadership, Safety, and project teams to ensure disciplined execution, compliance with customer and regulatory standards, and consistent application of quality processes. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with strong technical and operational insight-capable of connecting field activities, documentation, and inspection readiness with quality outcomes and customer expectations.  

Essential Job Responsibilities 

Regional Quality Leadership & Field Partnership 

  • Serve as the primary quality leader for the region, partnering with Regional Operations Directors, project managers, and site leadership to ensure high-quality execution on all work. 
  • Act as a strategic advisor to operational leaders, translating quality insights into actionable improvements and risk mitigation strategies. 
  • Maintain strong presence in the field-conducting project visits, job walks, inspections, and readiness assessments to proactively surface and resolve quality risks. 

Quality Systems, Standards & Compliance 

  • Implement and uphold Loenbro's QMS, policies, procedures, and discipline-specific standards across all regional work. 
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes and customer specifications (e.g., ASME, AWS, API, NEC, NDE/NDT standards). 
  • Oversee quality documentation, submittals, inspection plans, test packages, and turnover packages, ensuring accuracy and completeness. 

Inspection, Testing & Technical Oversight 

  • Provide hands-on leadership for regional inspection and quality teams, ensuring proper execution of welding inspections, mechanical/electrical inspections, testing, and NDE/NDT activities. 
  • Support project managers with quality-critical planning, pre-job readiness reviews, and customer-specific quality requirements. 
  • Lead root-cause analysis and corrective action processes for nonconformances, quality incidents, and customer complaints. 

Performance Reporting, Metrics & Operational Insight 

  • Monitor and report regional quality KPIs, trends, and emerging risks to the VP of Quality and regional operations leadership. 
  • Review project performance indicators including rework rates, inspection findings, test outcomes, and documentation accuracy. 
  • Partner with Technology and Operations to enhance dashboards and reporting tools that improve visibility and decision-making.  

Training, Capability Building & Continuous Improvement 

  • Develop and deliver regional training programs covering quality standards, documentation expectations, inspection readiness, and discipline-specific requirements. 
  • Coach project teams on best practices for weld quality, installation quality, testing protocols, and documentation accuracy. 
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives, driving standardization and reducing rework, variation, and quality issues across the region. 

Customer & External Stakeholder Engagement 

  • Serve as a regional point of contact for customer quality leaders, third-party inspectors, and regulatory authorities. 
  • Support pre-construction meetings, customer audits, and project kickoffs to ensure clarity of quality expectations. 

Key Qualifications 

  • 8-12+ years of progressive quality or technical leadership experience in construction, industrial services, energy, or manufacturing environments. 
  • Strong technical foundation in industrial quality disciplines (e.g., welding, mechanical, electrical, NDE/NDT, instrumentation). 
  • Experience supporting multi-site, project-based operations with diverse scopes and customer requirements. 
  • Proven ability to influence operational leaders and connect quality outcomes to field execution. 
  • Demonstrated success driving compliance, standardization, and continuous improvement. 
  • Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills; ability to operate with urgency and judgment. 

Education 

  • Bachelor's degree preferred (Engineering, Construction Management, Quality, or related field). 
  • Industry certifications (e.g., CWI, NDT Level II/III, API, ASQ certifications) strongly preferred.
