About This Role

Axsome Therapeutics is seeking Regional Marketer (RMK) who will focus on Alzheimer's Disease Agitation. This role is field-based and an extension of the Axsome Marketing team that will focus on commercial KOL engagements with CNS and LTC experts to gain insights into national, regional, and local opportunities, provide a bridge between regional markets and Axsome headquarters (HQ), and support the brand strategy to help inform strategic direction. Additionally, this RMK will lead Peer to Peer speaker bureau development, training, and support the execution of advocacy programs. This role will liaise with other field-based leaders within approved SOPs, including but not limited to Field Medical, Sales, Training, as well as HQ based colleagues in Marketing, Sales, Market Access, Market Research, and Medical Affairs, as appropriate. Additionally, this RMK will help develop and execute HCP marketing initiatives in line with brand strategies and objectives. This individual will report to the Director, Regional Marketing, ADA.

This is a field-based position in the Northeast Region that includes ME, NH, VT, MA, RI, CT, NY, NJ, PA, DE, OH, MI, IN. Candidates must live in the geography. 

Job Responsibilities and Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

KOL Engagement 

  • Function as a Thought Leader Liaison (TLL)/Regional Marketing Liaison (RML) to KOLs within the community and build a bridge to/from the customer to Axsome Therapeutics
  • Identify, profile, cultivate and maintain long-term partnerships with National and Regional KOLs as well as Emerging Leaders within the ADA community
  • Develop and maintain KOL engagement plans and influence maps for thought leaders
  • Engage with local, regional, and national KOLs to gather insights on commercial strategy to inform brand direction and support marketing initiatives, when appropriate
  • Work closely and collaboratively with cross-functional partners, to lead and manage KOL coordination

Brand Strategy 

  • Support cross-functional teams to gather key customer insights on the marketplace by garnering input on commercial strategy
  • Assist in identification of Healthcare Professional (HCP) consultants based on profiles established by the approved Consultant Engagement Project Brief
  • Develop, facilitate and support approved national/ regional advisory boards and focus groups, where appropriate
  • Monitor speaker performance to provide high-quality education through coaching as needed
  • Identify, align, and recruit appropriate HCP/KOL consultants to meet the needs of marketing and achieve aligned-upon KPIs for each project

Requirements / Qualifications

  • BA or BS in relevant field; advanced degree preferred
  • Minimum 7 years of pharma experience in CNS market
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in one or more of the following: brand marketing, regional marketing/thought leader engagement, commercial focused management or field sales
  • Proven ability to successfully manage accounts in a large geographical area including both academic and community-based HCPs
  • Clinical knowledge and aptitude in complex/competitive disease states, preferably in CNS
  • Demonstrates ability to build and cultivate productive stakeholder relationships internally and externally with impactful engagement

Experience, Knowledge and Skills 

  • Demonstrates success and expertise with thought leader development and engagement, advisory boards/focus groups and speaker's bureau development/management - strongly preferred
  • Experience in marketing, strategic development, management/leadership and extensive pharmaceutical product launch experience - strongly preferred
  • Experience in Alzheimer's Disease or neurodegenerative diseases - strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of the Long-term care (LTC) market including key stakeholders, services and market nuances
  • Experience in LTC marketing, LTC account management, LTC leadership and/or LTC sales - strongly preferred
  • Experience being highly collaborative with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong organizational and planning skills
  • Self-starter mentality. Able to quickly determine effective approaches and appropriate action to take, based on the available information and resources that are consistent with the over-arching strategy
  • Strong intellectual curiosity with a desire to continuously learn and improve by applying new knowledge and skills on the job and innovating with market dynamics
  • 50-70% business travel, by air or car, is regularly required

Salary & Benefits

The anticipated salary range for this role is $160,000 - $190,000. We encourage candidates of all levels to apply as there may be flexibility on final job title and responsibilities. The salary offer will be based on a variety of factors, including experience, qualifications, internal equity and location.
