Miscellaneous Metals, Inc. is a steel fabrication and installation company serving commercial construction projects throughout the region. We are looking for a dependable and organized Shop Hardware Inventory Specialist to manage the hardware and small-parts inventory used in our fabrication and field operations.
Position Summary
The Shop Hardware Inventory Specialist is responsible for organizing, stocking, tracking, and distributing construction hardware items such as nuts, bolts, screws, anchors, and other small parts.
You will work closely with the Purchasing department and shop personnel to maintain accurate inventory levels and ensure fabricated materials are shipped with the hardware required for installation.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and orderly hardware storage room.
  • Stock and restock nuts, bolts, screws, anchors, and other hardware items.
  • Perform routine inventory counts and update inventory records.
  • Monitor stock levels and notify or coordinate with Purchasing when items need to be ordered.
  • Pull, organize, and prepare hardware for specific projects and deliveries.
  • Confirm that fabricated material shipments include the correct hardware before delivery.
  • Sort, inspect, and return unused hardware to the appropriate storage location.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of shipping containers and storage areas.
  • Respond promptly to hardware requests and inventory questions from shop personnel.
  • Assist with other shop or warehouse duties as needed.
Qualifications
  • Familiarity with Hilti products, construction fasteners, anchors, bolts, epoxy/adhesive anchoring systems, or related installation hardware is preferred
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Careful attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Basic math skills for counting inventory and monitoring stock levels.
  • Ability to prioritize work and switch between tasks as shop needs change.
  • Ability to work independently, identify problems, and take initiative.
  • Clear verbal communication skills and a helpful, professional attitude.
  • Previous inventory, warehouse, parts-room, shipping, receiving, or material-handling experience is a plus.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to bend, kneel, reach, and work at different storage levels.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and handle materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to use a hand truck to move boxes and materials.
  • Manual dexterity to sort, count, and handle small hardware items.
Work Environment
Work is performed in an active steel fabrication shop and warehouse where materials and equipment are regularly moved and transported. The environment may be noisy and may include exposure to shop equipment, welding activity, dust, and changing temperatures. Appropriate personal protective equipment must be worn as required.
